This weekend was fun & productive so I wanted to share it with you

I was so happy to get away this past weekend. Even if it was a quick day trip to Rhode Island, it’s always nice to visit family and get out of town for a bit. It reminds me to slow down and enjoy family time.

Saturday morning we hit the road bright and early.

Iced coffee in hand and maybe a donut for Ava and a muffin for mommy I’m guilty of a sweet tooth this pregnancy, but I’m rolling with it right now.

The trip was great and we made it to RI by 930am. I feel bad I made us stop to pee but this bladder is getting smaller and smaller each week.

We spent the day with Marc’s family and were fortunate that his aunt and grandma came to visit us. It’s so nice to be able to see them all.

Ava had a blast with her cousins.

She got to have cake and blow out candles for her Mimi’s birthday.

The kids ran around outside, played with toys and ate lunch together.

The day was great. I felt like when we got home my mind was rested and we were all in a happy mood.

Sunday Marc and I decided we wanted to be productive. By productive I mean we were nesting. That word sounds funny to me, but its the exact stage I feel that I am in. I’m making to-do lists, organizing drawers, cabinets, pantries & closets. I’m literally trying to throw everything out. If we haven’t used it in the last year it’s going in the garbage or it’s getting donated!!

It feels great to do some spring cleaning and also organize my life at home. I know once this baby is here I won’t be doing any of this stuff so I’d rather get it all done now.

The clock is ticking and with 8 weeks left I know I have to do a little each day to finish all the items on my list. Is it possible????

I sometimes question it, but I’m determined to clear the clutter and my mind!

We spent the day hanging out with Marc’s family. The weather ended up turning out to be great and it never rained so we got to hang outside and play in the pool.

There’s something so relaxing about RI to me. I guess 1. it’s vacation 2. it’s my home away from home so I’m comfortable.

Saturday night we did take out from Trattoria Romana.

I ordered Chicken Fiorentina which was chicken with prosciutto, mozzarella & spinach in a marsala wine. It was delicious!

Sunday Ava got to play with her cousin Natalie practically all day long.

It’s so fun to watch them hang out, Ava definitely learns a lot from her big cousin.

In the afternoon both of Marc’s grandma’s came over and we got to see his Aunt & Uncle whom we LOVE spending time with.

It was a great afternoon and we truly do miss seeing them!

These two made me smile a TON.

Sunday evening Marc’s dad cooked us a wonderful dinner as usual. He is such an amazing cook and it’s practically effortless to him. We had BBQ Pulled pork, Grilled Chicken, Bean Salad, and Tomato & Cucumber salad.

YUM I love summer food.

Monday was a rainy day so we did some shopping.

Once the weather cleared up we went to the park.

I spy a dog on the playground!

It was such a great weekend with our family and now we are back home and ready to spend some days around Greenwich at the beach! I can’t wait

How was your weekend?

Have you ever been to Rhode Island? 

I had a whirlwind of a weekend and it was action packed with super fun activities.

After Boot Camp last Thursday night we headed up to Rhode Island. We figured the traveling would be easier if Ava was sleeping in the car but of course there were still tons of people on the road! We got to RI about 10pm and with plans to go to bed early Ava quickly changed that. She got her second wind and stayed up until 1am.

Friday morning I woke up and drank some coffee after feeling a little tired from my busy week and the little sleep. We took Ava and her cousin Natalie to a unique shopping center that had a little petting zoo with chickens, goats, and little shops in the mix.

They also had a bamboo forest.

The girls had fun exploring. We also made a trip to a park to let Ava & Natalie have some fun!

After our morning adventures we hung out at Marc’s parents until it was time for Marc to drive me to Misquamicut to meet up for my friend Megan’s Bachelorette Party!

We stayed at the Breezeway Resort which was located right by Misquamicut Beach!

We stayed and hung out at the beach until about 5pm, the weather was perfect!

Once we got ready we headed to the Ocean Mist for dinner.

Followed by some drinks & dancing at Paddy’s Cafe.

We had a blast hanging out, sharing conversations, and partying for Meg’s last weekend as a bachelorette!

Saturday morning I woke up early, thanks to my biological clock that is set on Ava’s schedule. I didn’t mind being up early and being able to lay in bed without having to jump up to get Ava or change a diaper! I got some breakfast with the girls and then went for a long walk on the beach!

After lunch time I headed back to the hotel room to shower & get changed, it was time for me to head to our friend Lauren & Chris’s wedding in Worcester Massachusetts.

Marc picked me up at 2pm and we made the trip to the wedding. We were able to pass time quickly as I recapped my fun night with the girls the night before.

The wedding started off with cocktail hour at 430pm.

The food was delicious! I did indulge in some cocktails as well

The wedding was beautiful.

I devoured my dinner in minutes it was so delicious. We had filet mignon, rosemary potatoes, & green beans! Yum.

The rest of the night was spent catching up with college friends.

and celebrating the new Mr. & Mrs. Chris Desantis, It was a beautiful wedding!

The end of our trip pretty much looked like this….. we were all completely wiped!!

Now it’s time for me to head to work and teach Group Power. I may need a little luck with this workout, I’m pretty tired from my fun weekend!

Danielle & John’s Wedding Weekend Part 1

Friday morning we left our house bright and early to bring Ava to Marc’s parents house in Rhode Island since she was staying there for the weekend while we were at the wedding. This was our first full weekend away from Ava so we hung out for a little and got her settled before we finished the rest of our drive to Newport.

 

 

How was your weekend? Were you busy & productive? We had a lot going on, but I liked it.

Friday night Is typically our low-key night. Butttttt my dad offered to hang out with Ava while Marc and I grabbed a quick bite to eat at or local favorite restaurant Barcelona.  We shared some delicious tapas and it was a nice mini date night out!

(These were a few of the tapas we got: Chili Brussel Sprounts, Hanger steak with Truffle Sauce, Spinach & Chicken Casserole)

When we got home from dinner, I fed Ava and put her down for the night.   Shortly after Marc and I watched some TV Shows on Demand that we missed from the last couple of weeks. I don’t typically watch a whole lot of TV during the week, so we play catch up on the weekends when my body wants some rest on the couch.

What are some of your go-to shows? I am a huge fan of Scandal & Grey’s so I was super pumped when the Fall Season kicked off last week!! I am one of the few people that have been watching Grey’s since it started. I seriously get super pumped when it is Thursday!!

The weather Saturday was crummy and literally made me not want to get out of bed. Ava was my reasoning for getting out of bed, that little girl wakes up ready to go, she gives me energy. My mom stopped over in the morning, and I practiced the new Group Power workout with her. Instructing the workout is the only way I get better

After I finished practicing, I quickly showered and got ready before Marc’s family arrived.

It was sooooo nice to spend time with them.

I love seeing Ava and her cousin Natalie together. They love each other and it is too cute to see them play, Natalie is clearly the ring-leader.

Once the rain cleared up.. Natalie enjoyed splashing around in some puddles! I probably should’ve taken my shoes off and joined her, she was clearly living in the moment it was the favorite part of my day.

When I woke up Sunday, I was confused as to what day it was! Does that every happen to you? I guess since I was heading to the YMCA at 815 for Group Power, I felt like I was going to work but really I was going to participate in a class.

We had quite the group and I’m pretty this workout confused our bodies in a good way.

In the afternoon we went to Marc’s softball party at Fairways Restaurant in Greenwich. Luckily my mom was there to help us entertain Ava, she had a lot of energy.

It was a beautiful fall day outside!

They had a live band at the restaurant and the music was great, I am sure Ava’s little ears were ringing when we left.

Shortly after we took this picture Ava crashed from all of the festivities so we headed home.

And nowwww I am off to teach the new October release of Group Power. Wish me luck, my muscles need it!

Thursday we headed to Rhode Island bright and early! Cooper watched Ava in the back seat for us.

We spent the day at the beach.

I absolutely love the Rhode Island beaches, the noise of the waves really has a calming and relaxing effect on me

Ava seemed to enjoy herself.

I had a delicious Grilled Salmon Salad from Matunuck Oyster Bar!

Marc and I attended a beautiful wedding for our college friend. The place was gorgeous!

I loved the little details of the wedding..

The food was delicious… and so good that I only snapped the picture of the salad.

Did I mention that I love weddings!?

It was our first night with out Miss Ava and we missed her!

Happyyy Monday……

We have a nice 3 day weekend and are leaving for Rhode Island shortly. I am very excited and hoping to get to the beach by the  early afternoon. It will be Ava’s first RI Beach trip!

I think it is nice to look back at the week and highlight some of our favorite things!

First off, from Sunday…Ava’s Baptism and party. I know I said I would post earlier this week, but we had a little camera dilemmna so that post will be coming SOON.

Monday morning my highlight was my Group Power Class.. it was a sweaty fun workout with some great people!!

My first Green Smoothie… you can’t hate it until you try it! I am having another one this morning!!

Cooper’s 2nd birthday was Wednesday! I can’t get enough of him. His birthday treat was some vanilla ice cream that he inhaled in about 5 seconds!

Thursday… Ava came to work with me in the morning! She got to visit my class and they were so excited to finally meet her.

We are off the Rhode Island.. Have a great weekend!

The room was perfect size and the food was amazing. We had a breakfast menu and I chose the Western Omelet with whole wheat toast, potatoes & a fruit cup. I loved the food but it seems like these days I fill up super quickly and get full off less food. It’s not a bad thing except that I am hungry again two hours later.

As you can see the boot made it to the shower! oh well!! Pictured from left to right is my mom, me, my sister in law Melanie, and my mother in law Cathy.

Melanie asked everyone to bring a book instead of a card which was such a great idea!! We decided that we are going to mount some bookshelves on the wall in the nursery to display all the great books we received from the shower.

After we finished eating I opened gifts! We got a pack n play, a swing, car seat accessories, baby clothes, baby blankets and toys. It was such a fun day and I really enjoyed spending time with everyone.

The shower was such a great ending to the weekend, and I am looking forward to celebrating with my family and friends in Greenwich in a couple of weeks!
