				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>OMG, we all know how much I love peanut butter but this <strong>Tartine</strong> I tried the other day took my love for PB to a whole different level.</p>

<p>Marc and I decided to get <a title="Le Pain" href="http://www.lepainquotidien.com/store-menu/greenwich-menus/#.U6LtR47PStY">Le Pain Quotidien</a> on Greenwich Ave for breakfast. After looking over the menu, the <strong>Organic Peanut Butter &amp; Jam Tartine </strong>jumped out at us. We had to try it and I am SOO glad we did.</p>

<p>The bread had a thin layer of <strong>peanut butter</strong> topped with <strong>sliced banana</strong> a little <strong>strawberry</strong> <strong>jam</strong> and it was sprinkled with organic <strong>granola</strong> that had oats, sunflower seeds, and coconut shavings. <em>It was super filling &amp; satisfying!</em></p>
<p>My taste buds were literally going nuts <img src="http://thefitskool.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" class="wp-smiley" /></p>
<p>To balance out this carb rich breakfast, we also split a veggie frittata! It was quite tasty.</p>
<p>I have never had peas with my breakfast but now I can officially say that I loved PEAS in my Fritatta!!</p>

<p>I plan to recreate the Peanut Butter &amp; Jam recipe at home because it was crazy good. <strong>I am up for the recipe challenge </strong>and I think it is definitely something easy to whip together!</p>

<div style="color: #222222;">A lot of the positions that were originally challenging for me like staying balanced on my tippy toes are no longer as difficult thanks to a strength gain in my calf muscles.</div>

<div style="color: #222222;">Yes, I am pumped about having stronger calves. Normally we don&#8217;t think to strengthen the calf muscle but it plays a huge role in ankle and knee stability.</div>

<div style="color: #222222;">For anyone else that has had a baby, you can agree with me that your core is the toughest spot to regain strength. <b>Pure Barre</b> has offset my boot camp and group power workouts. I am happy with my core work and I feel that my stomach is A LOT tighter. I can honestly say that all the hip tucks during the barre class are finally paying off.</div>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><em><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: normal;">Yesterday I took my first Barre class at <a title="purebarre" href="http://purebarre.com/ct-greenwich/"><strong>PURE BARRE in Greenwich, CT</strong>.</a></span></em></p>

<p>If you are looking to try a <strong>BARRE class</strong> be ready for a workout that wil<strong>l push your body to the limit</strong>. Most of the workout was body weight training that focused on leaning out the muscles, however we did use light free weights and a ball. The workout is done in your socks which is fun too <img src="http://thefitskool.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" class="wp-smiley" /></p>

<p>I have done SO many different classes before but nothing like a Barre class. With such tiny movements throughout the class I questioned how my muscles would get fatigued but it didn&#8217;t take long before I got a burn! There were moments when my thighs were screaming and I couldn&#8217;t wait for the countdown from 10 to be over! I don&#8217;t know if my Quads were sore from teaching Group Power the night before but wow were they on fire yesterday.</p>
<p>Some of the <strong>weight bearing</strong> lower body exercises were challenging, but in a good way. I loved holding a squat on my tippy toes, it was a move I&#8217;ve never done before and my legs were shaking just from holding that position for minute straight!</p>
<p>I noticed throughout the workout that my legs were more challenged then my upper body but I&#8217;m sure that will change the next time I take a class. I highly recommend this class to anyone who is looking for a low-impact workout, it is easy on the joints but tough on the muscles! As you can see my heart rate didn&#8217;t get too high, but that doesn&#8217;t mean it wasn&#8217;t a great workout.</p>

<p><em><strong>My first Barre experience was fun</strong></em>! There were a few technical points I need to work on, like &#8220;<em>tucking my hip</em>&#8221; and keeping my lower back from <em>arching</em>, but for my first day I think I did okay.</p>

<p><strong>Friday</strong> I did get some food prep in&#8230; Chicken crusted parmesan, fresh cut pineapple (because I eat 2 a week!), &amp; bran muffins w/ applesauce. Not a whole lot of preparation but it helps!</p>

<p>Let&#8217;s start with a little recap of my weekend.<strong> Friday night</strong> Marc and I headed to <strong><em>Barcelona</em></strong> on Greenwich Avenue for dinner. We love their tapas and I couldn&#8217;t wait to dig in.</p>
<p>We ordered 6 tapas.. crispy brussel sprouts with siracha sauce, garlicky broccoli rabe, butternut squash with pepitas and manchego cheese, steak with truffle sauce, albondigas (beef/pork meatballs) and duck meatballs.</p>

<p>My favorite were the butternut squash and brussel sprouts. They were AMAZING. I might go back just to get those 2 again. I love that Barcelona&#8217;s food menu changes with what is in season. They always inspire me to try new things and also experience new flavors to cook with. I have re-made some of their dishes and have even incorporated them into our weekly dinner menus!</p>
<p><strong>Saturday morning</strong> I was super excited to head to the <strong>YMCA</strong> to practice my <em>Group Power</em> workout with a couple of the instructors. It felt great to run through the routine!  I got a pretty good workout in too. I can&#8217;t wait to teach it next Monday.</p>

<p><strong>Saturday night</strong> was fun&#8230; we headed to my best friend&#8217;s sons 1st Birthday party.</p>

<p>On<strong> Sunday morning,</strong> we quickly got Ava ready and headed to Rhode Island for our niece&#8217;s 2nd Birthday. Yes this weekend was packed with kid parties but so much fun. Our niece is SUPER cute, and just loves Ava. She even held her, <em><strong>how cute!</strong></em></p>

<p>After a crazy busy weekend.. I thought I would make today just as jam-packed. I am now off to practice the <strong>Group Power</strong> workout at home while Ava is napping! Then I am going to head to Target to get fun baby stuff for Ava to bring to daycare with her next week, and lastly take Cooper to the dog park for some play time.</p>
