Bran Muffins with chocolate chips

Ingredients:

1 box hodgson mills bran muffin mix

2 eggs

1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce

1/2-cup skim milk

1 tsp cinnamon

¼ tsp nutmeg (optional, I usually add extra cinnamon instead!)

1 Tbsp Canola Oil

¼ cup chocolate chips

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400° F. Line 8 muffins cups with paper liners or grease muffin cups.

Place contents of package into mixing bowl, cut in low fat butter or vegetable oil. Add remaining ingredients and mix until just blended. Spoon batter into prepared muffin cups. Bake at 400° F for 14-16 minutes, I took mine out at 14 minutes but to check stick a toothpick in and make sure nothing sticks. Makes about: 8 muffins.

Approximately: 170 calories
