WIAW: 4 months pregnant eats

This past weekend marked my 4 months of being pregnant. That’s a big milestone and it’s jaw dropping to me that I am almost half way from meeting our new little baby. TIME IS FLYING.

Over the weekend we enjoyed some delicious meals and I wanted to share some of them with you.

WHAT-I-ATE-WEDNESDAY-NEW-BUTTON-PEAS-AND-CRAYONS

I’m linking up with the WIAW crew over on Arman’s blog today to share my food journal with you from Sunday.. Valentine’s Day!

My morning started off earlier then I would have liked since I could’ve slept in but at 630am I had to pee. That’s a pregnancy perk right there. After that, my mind started racing and I knew I needed to get breakfast started for valentine’s day  ;)

IMG_0966

I whipped us up some scrambled eggs with peppers in olive oil, hash browns, and bacon.

IMG_0971

Ava also wanted to share her meal with you!! She literally asked me to take a picture of her and her food. Do you think she sees me snapping a lot of food photos or what????

She basically only ate the bacon and maybe some fruit off her plate, smart girl!

Mid morning after doing some house work and silly stuff I realized my belly was ready for more food. I had a bowl of fruit salad

IMG_0964

and a scoop of PEANUT BUTTER. Guys this was huge. I haven’t been eating peanut butter that much this pregnancy, it has been one of my aversions so when it tasted GOOD I went with it!!

IMG_9405

I got a burst of energy and did an Insanity Max 30 cardio dvd workout. It was awesome and felt great to move. Don’t mind the cheesy picture I was feeling so good after and rather then have Marc take the picture I went ahead and snapped it myself.

Lunch time came around 1230. I had a huge bowl of Oriental Chicken Salad (cabbage, cilantro, chicken, sesame seeds, & asian ginger dressing)

IMG_9415

It was pretty tasty and I filled my bowl twice!

Ava took a nap so I decided to do some computer work and maybe a little online shopping mixed in!! I made a little avocado toast to snack on while I was on the computer.

IMG_0972

I’m pretty sure this should be on the menu EVERY DAY.

IMG_7585

Along with these California oranges. I’ve been devouring these lately. It’s a good thing we have a dozen more! I also snacked on a few crackers, which are not pictured.

Dinner came on the early side and it usually does for us on Sunday evenings. Marc cooked me a lovely Valentine’s Day Dinner.. Steak, Sauteed green beans, & Potatoes.

IMG_0981

He knows me too well. It was all delicious and simple flavors which I LOVE.

There always needs to be dessert on Valentine’s Day right? Marc and I made some Brownies (a skinnier version using 1/2 oil and 1/2 applesauce) and of course topped that with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!!

IMG_0986

It was a great day of eats and that’s why I wanted to share it with you!

I hope you are having a great week.

What’s something yummy you ate this week?

Do you like Avocado toast?

A much needed trip & Valentine’s Day

This weekend was one of the best weekends I have had in a while. There weren’t any crazy plans or exciting events but it was spent with family and it was super relaxing.

2 weeks ago I got a silly head cold that wiped me out, then Ava got it and then we had a little accident at our house where Ava hit her head on the corner of a wall which resulted in stitches… it was a rough 2 weeks and before that it was a rough few months of being nauseous while pregnant. SOOO when we had a stress free and healthy weekend I couldn’t help but laugh and smile.

You need the bad days to appreciate the good ones right?

Friday night we had a low key night at home and watched the new episode of Grey’s Anatomy. UM that was a tear jerker. Pregnancy hormones are no joke and I shed a few tears.

We went to bed early in anticipation for an early morning trip to Rhode Island. We got up at 630am and were out of the house at 8am. Once we arrived in RI Ava ran around and played with her cousins while Marc and I chatted with his mom, sister, and dad.

IMG_0934

I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to see Ava having a blast with her cousin Natalie. The two of them played, ran around, chased each other, played hide and seek, ate lunch, frosted cupcakes and even enjoyed a lollipop with supervision.

IMG_0946 IMG_0942

It was relaxing for me because Ava had someone to play with all day and I didn’t need to worry about her being entertained.

IMG_0952 IMG_0953

I really wish Marc’s family lived closer but I am super fortunate that we get to spend these long days together without interruptions. When we go to RI we are there to spend quality time and it always makes us sad when we leave but we couldn’t have enjoyed ourselves any more.

SUNDAY was Valentine’s Day.. which meant I needed to think of some special things to do for my loved ones.

I promised Marc I would make breakfast and as soon as I woke up I made my way to the kitchen. I started some coffee, drank some water and got to my food prep. I made us a huge bowl of fruit salad to nibble on.

IMG_0963

We also had scrambled eggs with red peppers, hash brown potatoes, and bacon!

IMG_0969 IMG_0968

It was so delicious and we agreed that we loved it.

IMG_0971

Rather then buy Ava tons of candy I opted to purchase a couple puzzles that she could play with. I did allow her to eat a few M&M’s that I wrapped in a bag for her but she did enjoy those puzzles.

IMG_0977

The temperature this weekend was FRIGID and the windchill was below zero so we spent most of the day doing stuff around the house.

We cleaned out our guest room which is soon to be Baby G’s nursery. We really only had to take out some stuff in the closet and relocate it, but it still took time to do.

Before lunch I did a quick workout. I was going to do a Hammer & Chisel dvd but I wanted to do some bodyweight cardio so I popped in an Insanity Max30 dvd. I know… insanity max.. pregnancy??? What are you thinking Kelly?

Well I followed the modifier in the video the entire time and my heart rate never went about 140. It was actually the PERFECT at home cardio workout and I got a little sweat in. Win.

When I finished I felt amazing and I will definitely be doing that dvd more on the weekends!

IMG_0980

My evening finished off with a delicious dinner made by Marc. My request was steak… 1. because I feel like steak is an appropriate date night meal 2. Baby wanted it 3. We had been craving it!

When Marc cooks meals, it always tastes better I swear. I gobbled up my plate in no time.

I rented the movie Trainwreck from Red Box and we laughed as Amy Schumer amused us with her humor.

IMG_0987

Midway through we indulged in a delicious HEALTHY brownie sundae. These brownies were 1/2 the fat because we used some applesauce in place of the large quantity of oil that usually is required for brownies. They are moist & fudgy and I had to hold myself back from eating more.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

What did you do for Valentine’s day?

Does your family live close by?

Things I’m loving this week

This week has been a whirlwind! I have been busy and productive which is always a plus. I can honestly say I’m ready to kick my feet up tonight and chill with Marc & Ava.

We are headed to Rhode Island bright & early tomorrow morning to visit some family. Ava is SUPER excited so see her cousins.

As for Valentine’s Day, we have nothing crazy going on. I have some plans to make Marc & Ava breakfast and then maybe we will watch a movie or something.

I figured I would share some things i’ve been loving this week so that we can end this week on a positive note!!

If you have read my blog before my dad is a huge Costco fan so I go with him on occasion to stock up on some big items and find new treats to test out. We stumbled upon AUSSIE BITES and let me tell you, Costco has outdone themselves again. Aussie bites are my new favorite cookie, treat, snack whatever you want to call it. It’s healthy and nutritious and I secretly wanted to hide the container so I could have them all to myself.

IMG_9155

RX bars. I know I have mentioned them in several posts these past couple of weeks, but I need to restock. I’m almost all out and I’m finally starting to favor certain flavors over others. My 2 favorites are Coconut Chocolate and Chocolate sea salt.

IMG_9244

I also like coffee and blueberry but I can’t eat those every day. Clean ingredients in bar form is amazing for this busy mom. I am constantly looking for new healthy snacks to throw in my purse, diaper bag, gym bag, car you name it!!

IMG_9249 IMG_9329

I did some CARDIO this weekend on a machine. While machines aren’t my favorite form of cardio, it felt great to sweat and not have to lift weights for a change. I actually felt a lot stronger during my cardio session which was interesting to me since I’m pregnant but it did get me excited :)

IMG_9307

I made a trip to Marshals this week and I told Ava we could buy a new toy. This girl started loading the cart with all the toys she can find. Ummm sorry Ava I said 1 toy. She’s funny though and at least she tried. I ended up spending $100 in Marshals, How? I’m not sure. I bought a new rug for the front door, a new baby outfit, some random snacks, a candle, a toddler gift, a mug, I pretty much bought one of everything but I was super happy with this decorative Valentine’s day saying that I found. My house is pretty simple, plain and not filled with decorations but I love to put something small out for each holiday and this just seemed right!

IMG_9350

My mom’s chicken cutlets are pretty freaking awesome and she made them for me this week. I guess that’s a perk to being pregnant, or having a mom that spoils you. I literally will eat these every day even cold. If there’s one thing I enjoy the most of my mom’s cooking it’s these chicken cutlets and this picture doesn’t do them any justice.

IMG_9316

Maybe because I rushed to take it so I could devour it ;)

With Valentine’s day this weekend I questioned what to get for Marc, Ava and my parents. Marc and I have agreed not to buy anything crazy, we have everything we need but I want to get him a little something and I’m stumped.. I am taking suggestions so please send me some.

IMG_9313

Ava and I will be putting together little gift bags for my parents filled with some of their favorite candy. It’s just something small but I know they will appreciate a little card and candy from Ava.

If  there’s one thing I’m not really into it’s candy. I know hate me, roll your eyes, its just not my thing. Give me a brownie, a chocolate covered strawberry or a lava cake and I will love you forever!! Give me a box of candy and it will sit in my pantry for a year, no joke ask Marc.

SOOO you can bet I will be treating myself to a chocolate covered strawberry or two this weekend!!

Do you have any Valentine’s Day plans this weekend?

What’s something you are loving this week?

BEETS BLU Heart Rate Monitor Review

I love fitness & health trackers. I think they come in handy especially for me right now with my pregnancy. There’s no target heart rate during pregnancy because each person is different but I think it’s important to still monitor it and not let it get too high. My doctor said 140 is a good range.

I have been keeping an eye on my heart rate throughout my workouts. I don’t look at it every second but I am trying to make sure I don’t overdo it with exercise. For someone that’s used to pushing 110% I have to remind myself to keep my exertion at a moderate pace.

When I was asked to review the Beets Blu heart rate monitor strap I was super excited and immediately said yes. I currently have a Fit Bit and Polar Heart Rate Monitor watch/strap but I question their accuracy.

IMG_9340

Here’s some information from the Beets Blu website about monitoring your heart rate:

Why do I need to monitor my heart rate?

“Control of your heart rate is very important for your training, as it helps you to achieve your desired results. Depending on the goal of your workout, you can:

  • Strengthen your cardiovascular system
  • Increase your stamina
  • Burn fat
  • Avoid your heart beating too fast

IMG_9336 IMG_9337

This is especially important for those over 50 years of age or for those recuperating.
The results of your training depend on your heart rate zone. This has a lower and upper limit. If your heart rate is in the target zone, you will achieve the expected results from your training.”

Product info:

  • adjustable strap: small to x-large
  • lightweight: 16g
  • slim: 11mm
  • 1 year battery life
  • you don’t need an adapter just a compatible smartphone
  • no connecting or adjusting you use an app to monitor heart rate

IMG_9341

When I first tested out this product I downloaded the free Runtastic app to pair it with. I didn’t really like that app so I deleted it and downloaded the free Runkeeper app. It was super easy to set up and paired quickly with the bluetooth function. I actually really liked that I didn’t have to connect anything else with it. I was able to review my workout at the end and view where my heart rate was at it’s max during my exercise routine.

You need a phone device with this product which for me was simple. The only time I had an issue with the product was when I was teaching my fitness classes. Sometimes I went out of the 25 foot range of my iPhone so it wasn’t picking up my data. For those who keep there phone in their pockets, or strapped onto their arms or waist this product would be perfect.

IMG_9339

If you have your phone around during your workout you can easily check your heart rate to see your progress.

IMG_9338

(this shows the back of the strap where the sensors read your heart rate)

The strap was comfortable and to be honest I was used to wearing it from my old watch so that didn’t phase me. It’s kind of like wearing a tighter sports bra, for guys maybe it would be a little weird but I think it’s something you get used to :)

During one of my workouts I wore my Fit Bit along with the Beets Blu strap to see the difference in my heart rate throughout a boot camp workout. I felt that they were both pretty similar but I trusted the Beets blu more because it was strapped to my chest and not my wrist. I find the Fit Bit to have a harder time tracking the heart rate from the wrist.

Overall I really liked the product and would recommend this heart rate monitor to anyone looking to strengthen their cardiovascular fitness!!

The Beets Blue Heart Rate Monitor is available through beetsblu.com for $44.95.

WIAW: Bowls of Goodness

HAPPY HUMP DAY!

I am beyond thrilled that it’s Wednesday already. I’m ready for the weekend is that bad?

Yesterday I had a random journal entry blog post about ways I coped with pregnancy nausea in the first trimester. I wrote the post back when I was 7 weeks and here I am at 18 weeks with virtually no nausea. When I re-read my post I couldn’t help but feel bad for myself and that I had to deal with morning sickness for 3 months. Then I thought about it again and realized it’s part of this amazing ride called pregnancy and most women have to deal with it.  I’m happy to say that at some point it does come to an end and I think I am there! Hooray.

NOW… On to better topics like food ;)

WHAT-I-ATE-WEDNESDAY-NEW-BUTTON-PEAS-AND-CRAYONS

I’m linking up with the WIAW crew today over on Laura’s blog to share my food journal from yesterday!

I debated which day to share and while Monday I had a lot of good meals the pictures were not so pretty.

Here goes……

My Tuesday morning started off a little later then usual. I had a day off!!! I had a few sips of coffee while sitting on the couch with Ava and Marc. That didn’t last long as my stomach started to rumble. I quickly whipped up some scrambled eggs with peppers & potatoes. YUM.

IMG_9322

As a mid morning snack I had a banana and Ava’s leftover eggs/toast. Hahah I can’t believe I just said that but it’s true. I hate to waste food and I love eggs so it worked. (sorry no picture, it really wasn’t picture worthy!)

I also ate an orange around 11am.

IMG_7585

My dad is off from work this week so he asked if I wanted lunch from Firehouse Deli. Without hesitation I ordered their Bailiwick Salad which is Mixed greens topped with artichokes, roasted red peppers, and the best grilled chicken. The dressing is balsamic and olive oil! The chicken in this salad is AMAZING did I say that already?? I know they marinate it in some special sauce but it’s ridiculously good. I mean chicken is chicken unless its topped with a magical sauce, right?!!

IMG_8841

So much for being creative and different. My afternoon snack for the last week straight has been a Siggis’s Greek yogurt parfait with some fruit and granola. I cannot get enough! pregnancy cravings are real and I’m rolling with this one :)

IMG_9136

Dinner came on the earlier side because I had boot camp class and I need that food to be digested!!! I had leftover Turkey chili with beans, brown rice & avocado.

IMG_9327

Probably not the greatest choice pre-workout but my belly loved every second!!!

After Boot Camp I refueled with an Mint Chocolate RX Bar and Cheerios. That’s a good balance right there. The Mint bar was so refreshing and it tastes like a bowl of mint chocolate chip ice cream, no joke.

IMG_9329IMG_6459

Most of my meals were served in bowls yesterday, coincidence or not they all tasted great!

What was something amazing you ate yesterday?

Tips for Pregnancy Nausea

How I coped with nausea (This post was written during Week 7 of pregnancy)

As I sit down to write this post, I am actually feeling less nauseated then I have been the past 2 weeks. To say I was a happy camper would be a lie. Being nauseous has made me miserable, cranky, tired, and of course all around sick.

Over the past few days, I’ve done a whole lot of nothing. As a matter of fact, I think I spent more hours on the couch then I did doing anything else.

Marc eventually got sick of me asking for more water, more snacks and changing Ava’s endless amounts of diapers. Yes she’s still in diapers and I’m to blame but its okay because we are all happy with that choice right now.

So I’m feeling good today, but I don’t want to jinx anything. I’m trying to stay on top of my eating and I don’t go more than 2-3 hours without food. Once my stomach hits empty, nausea increases by 10. I’ve learned and I’m determined to END my nausea. There has to be a cure right?

I tried crackers, ginger, carbonated drinks, lots of fluid, all the bread, ginger tea, all the sweets, lemons, tea, rest, massage, pressure points, chewing gum, sucking on hard candies, eating crappy, eating healthy… I’ve found a balance today that works for me.

Processed with MOLDIV

Tips for Pregnancy Nausea

  • Wake up and immediately snack on something small
  • Exercise or do something active after eating breakfast
  • Eat every 2-3 hours (sometimes even every hour)
  • Chew Gum or Sucking on mint candies
  • Brush teeth at least 3 times a day
  • Drink water like it’s going out of style. Basically carrying a water bottle with me wherever I go
  • Vitamin B6
  • Take a prenatal vitamin with a full belly
  • Eat what my body is telling me (fried rice, clementines, potatoes, all the protein, etc)
  • Tell yourself you CAN deal with the nausea (someone always has it worse!)
  • A serving of protein at each meal
  • Rest or nap if you are exhausted
  • Sleep at least 8-9 hours
  • Eat a snack 30 minutes before I go to bed

MY list could go on, but the biggest thing for me is 1. DON’T let my stomach get empty and 2. EXERCISE even if it’s a short walk with Cooper. The days I didn’t exercise or I didn’t stay on top of my eating were the days I felt the worst and the days I found myself immobile on the couch.

I hope there are some pregnant women or future moms out there that can use this list if they get nauseous! I would never want anyone to experience pregnancy nausea ;)

What about nausea in general?

A Healthy Superbowl

Superbowl is one of my favorite holidays. Not only is football my favorite sport to watch but game day food is awesome! Am I not right?

After spending NUMEROUS Super Bowl Sundays feeling stuffed and uncomfortable after eating way too much I have learned to enjoy my favorite game day eats in a healthier way.

I’ve also learned to pick and choose wisely rather then stuffing my face and eating when I’m not hungry. It’s okay to enjoy the foods you love but keeping in mind portions will help your waistband later!!

Two of my favorite football foods are WINGS & CHILI. I absolutely love them both but I can get a killer belly ache after eating too much of those yummy snacks.

I have a few LIGHTER recipes to share with you and it will help you enjoy your favorite foods without breaking the calorie bank during Superbowl Sunday.

HEALTHY CREAMY BUFFALO PULLED CHICKEN

(Make sure to add more hot sauce to this recipe if you like it spicy!!)

IMG_1562

While I do love wings, they are a bit time consuming to make and they can be super messy. I have a toddler to run after and messy hands just won’t work so I will take a pulled buffalo chicken sandwich smothered in hot sauce any day!

image2-1

This recipe can be served on lettuce wraps, sandwich buns, as a dip or even in a taco shell!

PALEO LEAN BEEF CHILI

Chili is awesome whether served with rice in a bowl or just as an appetizer dipped with chips.

IMG_9043

This chili sneaks in veggies, uses lean beef which cuts some of that unnecessary saturated fat and tastes amazing!!

IMG_9212

(You could add beans, cheese or rice if you want which is what I did with the above picture)

Who are you picking to win the Superbowl? I’m choosing the Panthers.

WIAW: Sick Day Eats

On Monday both Ava and I were home sick with a nasty head cold. I started feeling something coming on Friday night after I got a hair cut and then Saturday the cold was in full force. My weekend wasn’t exciting and that’s why I never posted about it.

I won’t complain about being sick because we have all been there but I will say that being pregnant and being sick is tough. You can’t take medicine and you have to force yourself to eat/drink even more because you have a baby to take care of and you cannot afford to get dehydrated!!!

WHAT-I-ATE-WEDNESDAY-NEW-BUTTON-PEAS-AND-CRAYONS

I’m linking up with the WIAW crew over on Arman’s blog today to share my food journal with you from Monday. I was home all day and I actually remembered to snap pictures of most of my food!

I normally have to set an alarm on Mondays to make sure I am up early enough before my class to eat and get ready, but this Monday was different. I found subs the day before for both of my classes because i knew I wasn’t going to have any energy to even get up off the couch let alone workout, yell and teach others.

I woke up around 650/7am which wasn’t that late but a little later for me and came downstairs feeling extremely groggy, tired, and not wanting to do anything. Since I have a growing baby I need to take care of I forced myself to make my usual morning meal of scrambled eggs with veggies & potatoes and a piece of bacon. I also had a few sips of coffee and TONS of water.

IMG_7541

Ava had 2 pieces of bacon for breakfast and Milk, sounds pretty amazing right??

After breakfast I sat my butt on the couch for a while before I decided to to change into somewhat decent lounge attire and put Ava in some decent comfy clothes too. It took every once of energy to do that and I’m not exaggerating when I say it probably took me 45 minutes to do both of those things.

Around 10am I ran to the library to drop of some Kids CD’s that were due that day and made a quick trip to the grocery store for milk and fruit. Ava needed more milk and I wanted more fruit. Well actually we both wanted fruit!

In the car I ate a banana.

IMG_7222

Once I got home I made a piece of toast with egg whites. I needed a little something else to sit in my belly for a while.

IMG_9134

It was SOOO nice out and by so nice I mean it was 46 degrees out at 11am (which felt like 70 degrees) so I felt the need to stroll down the street with Cooper and Ava. It was a good idea for fresh air but a bad idea for me because I felt worse when we got back. I literally walked at a turtles pace but for some reason it drained me. WOW.

Back to the couch, this time Ava watched some TV, take a guess.. Mickey mouse per her request. The poor girl was just as sick as me but she didn’t complain she just laid around and rested which is exactly what her body needed.

We had two big bowls of Chicken Soup for lunch topped with parmesan cheese. I made a big batch of soup on Saturday when I wasn’t feeling well. I always crave soup when I’m sick!

IMG_9272

We also some chips & guacamole.

IMG_9273

This was a random combination but it was easy to grab and eat without thinking!!! Ava licked the guacamole off every chip I gave her and then ate the chips after, weirdo!

Ava took a nap from 12:30-3pm. You think I would be able to nap myself but I couldn’t breathe or get comfortable so I laid on the couch and did some computer work. My mind wouldn’t relax so I just figured laying down was still a good option right??

Once Ava woke up from her nap I realized I was hungry again and made a Chocolate Shakeology. It was so good and so soothing on my throat.

I listed off about a million snack options for Ava and she decided on peppers & cucumbers so the two of us snacked on some healthy veggies. I’m gonna give her credit on this one, she forced me to eat my veggies!!!!

IMG_9276

At almost 5pm on the dot Baby G was hungry and I made the quickest most simple meal I could in about 20 minutes well minus the potatoes that baked in the oven for an hour we ate Roasted Chicken with Pesto, Roasted Green beans with olive oil and a baked potato. Simple and filling!! I actually didn’t eat all of my potato and had more pesto chicken instead.

IMG_9278

I’m sure you know that I’m loving yogurt parfaits lately so that was my night time snack choice. Siggi’s Vanilla yogurt with strawberries, grapes & granola!! It was delicious and a great ending to my night.

IMG_9173

It wasn’t a bad day of food considering I didn’t feel well, but I had to force myself to eat and make smart choices because I’m not just taking care of myself I have a little baby that needs to stay healthy too!!

What was one of your favorite meals from the week?

Do you find it hard to eat when you are sick?

Baby #2: Pregnancy Update Week 15 & 16

I apologize for the lack of post yesterday but Ava and I were home sick so that was the last thing on my mind!!

I’m actually heading to the doctor this morning for a prenatal check up and I can’t wait to hear the heart beat :)

I am currently 17 weeks pregnant, however I wanted to share with you some baby updates from WEEK 15 & 16. It’s kinda fun to see the changes and progress throughout the pregnancy.

Of course I know you want to hear my cravings and complaints right??

BABY UPDATES:

Week 15

The baby is the size of a ORANGE

Week 16

The baby is the size of a AVOCADO

WEIGHT GAINED:

Week 15

Gained 1 lb (up 9lbs) I’m totally ahead on the weight gain but I’m totally fine with it.

WORKOUTS:

Week 15

This was another normal week for me. My workout schedule. 2 Group Power Classes, 2 Fit For Life, & 2 Boot Camp Classes plus I walked Cooper on several days. I also did a cardio workout at home on Saturday that took about 30 minutes.

Week 16

My work week was the same as last week, I taught 6 classes, I also did a ton of walking! I took the weekend off to rest, I wasn’t feeling well I had a nasty head cold!

IMG_9150

Picture taken at 15 weeks

SYMPTOMS:

Week 15

My nausea is about 80% gone. I had several days with nausea from about 3-6pm but besides that I have been feeling like my old self and being super productive :) I am happy to be feeling better!

Week 16

Knock on wood…. the nausea is finally subsiding. I have small moments but they are manageable. I have had a few headaches but I think that was due to my head cold!

I was never sick during my pregnancy with Ava but this time I had one minor sore throat and then this nasty head cold. I guess it’s also the time of year. Oh well. All in all it hasn’t been a bad week :)

FOOD AVERSIONS:

Week 15

Leftovers…. this one stinks because I am a leftover queen but when I look at something that I ate for dinner the night before I wanna gag. Also I still can’t stomach sweet potatoes or peanut butter :( HELP!

Week 16

Still can’t eat sweet potatoes, I forced myself to eat peanut butter, I’m not really into mexican food but guacamole was good this week.

FOOD CRAVINGS:

Week 15

I love potatoes & protein (chicken & beef), grilled cheese have been one of my night time snacks a couple times last week!! I like yogurt parfaits, eggs, cheerios & KIND Bars.

Week 16

Grilled Cheese, yogurt parfaits, chili, cape cod potato chips, grapes, eggs, BACON.

SLEEP:

Week 15

Sleep is awesome. I sleep anywhere between 7 1/2-8 hours each night. I can’t wait to sprawl out in my bed at night and just close my eyes, sleep is good. I had a couple nights with some ridiculously crazy dreams that woke me up but that happens right?

Week 16

Sleep had been great up until I got sick. I was sleeping like a rock but these last few nights I’ve had trouble breathing through my nose so I slept propped up. I hate stuffy noses!!! I’m hoping tonight is a better night.

LOOKING FORWARD TO:

Week 15

I get to go to the doctor next week and I can’t wait to hear the heartbeat!! :)

I head to the Doctor Tuesday afternoon and we get to hear the heartbeat and find out how the baby is measuring up.

MISS ANYTHING?

Week 15

I totally miss runny eggs.. over easy eggs whatever you want to call them!! They are my ultimate favorite and I’m sorry but scrambled eggs are NOT the same.

Week 16

Besides the runny eggs, I do miss a good cold cut sandwich. I can eat organic cold cuts that have no nitrates/preservatives etc but there’s something so delicious about walking into a deli and having a freshly made sandwich!

BOY OR GIRL?

Week 15

I am back to thinking it’s a boy. I feel a little different this time around…. my guess will change again I’m sure.

Week 16

I think I’m going to stop guessing!!

MOVEMENT:

Week 15

This week I felt flutters and some other movements. It seriously made me so excited!!!!

Week 16

I felt more movement on a regular basis this week. Mostly around 3pm and 10pm when I had the opportunity to sit around. The movements felt like popcorn inside, I know those kicks and punches will soon feel a lot stronger but I’m enjoying everything I feel on every single day :) It makes this process soo much fun.

BABY PURCHASES:

We are still holding off on buying things until we find out if its a boy or girl on February 17th

RANDOM STUFF:

Week 15

This past week has been SOOO much better overall. I really can’t complain. There were moments I forgot I was pregnant and I know it sounds weird but I was thankful to feel normal and not have any HUGE symptoms overpowering my brains and thoughts.

I am starting to feel more pregnant. My workout capris are no longer comfortable. I am in desperate need of a shopping trip. All of my pants are tight around the middle and it started making me cramp so I stopped wearing them and I’m limited to 2 pairs that I have to keep washing. That’s not fun.

I like seeing a baby bump though, I know that baby is growing, is healthy, and is making progress. 5 1/2 months until I get to meet this little one ;)

Week 16

I blame my productiveness and every levels last week on my head cold during week 16. I had a couple nights where i slept a little less from waking up early and I think my body was like enough is enough. SOO week 16 wasn’t amazing but I was nausea free for the most part!

I’m REALLY looking forward to next week. i see so many good things coming this week. I know I will be feeling better, I know I will have good energy and I will be closer to finding out what gender this little baby is!

If you have ever been pregnant did you ever get sick?

Things I’m loving this week..

It’s been a couple weeks since I shared some of the things I’ve been loving lately and I’ve been looking forward to writing this post. Here goes:

THINGS I’M LOVING THIS WEEK……..

Siggi’s Yogurt I am currently on a yogurt kick this week and I can’t get enough of it. Siggi’s is packed with protein, and I love knowing that I’m eating a clean snack.

All things bacon.. I would definitely say Bacon is one of my HUGE cravings this pregnancy. I literally would eat it every day if I thought that was healthy butttt I think in moderation its okay so I’ve limited it to a few times a week. Ava is on the bacon train too, the girl wants all the bacon like her mama.

(I actually thought I had more bacon pics but it doesn’t surprise me that I don’t. We eat it way to fast to take pictures)

Whole Foods Gift Card winner I won a giveaway on The Posh Body’s blog and I was super excited to go shopping for free last week. I bought my favorite hummus, some healthy snacks and dinner, it was awesome.

Brussel Sprouts salad from Harvest Marc and I went to Harvest for dinner on New Years Eve and I can’t stop thinking about this brussel sprouts salad that I’ve decided to make it myself. It’s too good to be true that I feel like a few simple ingredients might work. I’ll let you know how it comes out.

CHILI… On sunday Marc made a big chili so we could eat while watching the Patriots game. Ava loved the chili but also the fact that she could eat in front of the TV.

On Wednesday she asked me for Chili for lunch. Of course I said “sure!!” and heated her up a bowl. This girl is TOO smart for her own good and started pushing her high chair towards the living room.

I know the chili was amazing, but smarty pants thought whenever she ate chili she got to eat in the living room watching football. She CRACKS me up.

Veggies Burgers growing up my mom always had some sort of veggie burger in the freezer. They were a great meal to have on hand when I didn’t know what to eat. Over the years I have tried several different brands and i’ve finally found the best Veggie burger from Costco.

It has real ingredients, it tastes great, and I can’t get enough!!

RX BARS is where its at. I have been snacking on these like crazy. My favorite one lately is the Coconut Chocolate, but Ava has been loving the Blueberry.

As you can see they one have clean REAL ingredients, what’s not to love??

Last but not least I needed to throw this picture of Ava in here.

She’s getting better at Cheesing for the camera, but she also loves to sing and that’s what she was doing before this picture. I’m not a singer, but she will sing for like 30 minutes straight and it’s pretty darn cute. I love the words she comes up with!!

HAPPY FRIDAYY.

What’s one of your favorite things from the week?
