1 Month Update: Adjusting to being a mom of 2!

Well hello there! It’s been quite a while since my last blog post and I guess you could say I have been enjoying my time at home with Bradley & Ava and it has also taken Marc and I some time to adjust to being a family of 5.

The title of this post really should have been ADJUSTING TO BEING A MOM OF 3. Cooper is absolutely one of my children and requires almost as much attention as Bradley & Ava do. I have to feed, walk, play and give Cooper cuddles just like the other two, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

IMG_0780

These past few weeks have been crazy busy and I can’t believe how fast the time is going!!! I have had my hands full with Bradley’s baby duties, keeping Ava entertained 24/7, getting Cooper his exercise, taking care of myself during my recovery, making meals for my family, and finding time to sleep in between. Moms have the toughest job right?? Well dad’s do too and Marc has been a tremendous help with EVERYTHING from jumping in to do a late night feeding so I can rest, taking Ava to the store or park so I can get a break, to walking Cooper daily so that he is tired!

IMG_0785

Right now I have both Ava and Bradley home with me until Ava starts preschool on September 1st, so I haven’t really had a chance to do anything for myself besides shower and eat. I miss blogging but to be honest any 30-60 minutes of free time that I’ve had, I pretty much spend resting. Ava hasn’t been napping consistently during the day anymore which doesn’t give me much of a break!!

IMG_0814

My first 2 weeks of recovery went pretty smoothly. I had some really good days where I felt like I could tackle everything and then usually the good days followed with a bad one and I would feel crampy, tired and pretty much useless. That’s how I know I overdid it!!

Week 3 I was sleeping a little better and moving around easier. I went for several walks with Marc, Cooper, Ava & Bradley. They weren’t long or strenuous walks but enough to get some fresh air and get Cooper his exercise.

Week 4 had been my best energy and my most active since having Bradley. I didn’t want to sit still, but come night time I was ready to sleep whenever Ava & Bradley fell asleep!  I haven’t been crampy at all in a while and I would say that by week 5 I’ll be itching for a workout ;)

IMG_0866

My recovery with Ava was slow and I started feeling good around 4 weeks postpartum but this time with Bradley I felt like I could do things around 10-14 days after. My body definitely isn’t ready but I guess when you have a toddler you have no choice but to be playing outside in a kiddy pool, squirting the hose, making trips to the library while lugging a car seat, playing at the beach in the water even when you probably shouldn’t be, and doing whatever I can to entertain my 2 1/2 year old with boat loads of energy. I swear she could probably do 10 boot camp classes and still not be tired!

IMG_0965

Now… A quick update on Bradley. He is just the sweetest little boy with the largest set of lungs! He can scream when he wants something but I like knowing he’s strong and healthy and only trying to tell me something. Ava was pretty quiet as a newborn so it’s funny to see how different they are already!

FullSizeRender-2 copy

He’s a good sleeper once he’s asleep. Getting him to sleep is sometimes challenging when Ava is singing, making noise, banging on things, or touching him and telling him not to sleep! Lets just say we are working on her whispering and quiet time. She’s improved drastically this last week and I’ve noticed an improvement in Bradley’s naps and he’s crying less. Clearly he needed more sleep and Ava wasn’t letting him

FullSizeRender copy

My sleep hasn’t been terrible, it could always be worse right? I think this time around I knew what to expect so I’m not expecting to sleep in long chunks and it’s been fine so far. I have had some mornings where I wake up ready to start the day with a smile on my face and I have had a few rough ones where I’m like seriously… can’t I sleep just another hour please!!!

I know that it’s just a phase and I will be sleeping longer in a few weeks so that’s how I’m getting through the late nights.

IMG_0927

Speaking of late nights, I really do enjoy my alone time with Bradley. It’s special bonding time since during the day I try to split my time between Bradley and Ava. Ava has been handling my shared time pretty well considering it’s only been a month with our new little guy. It’s a learning curve for all of us and I think we are doing the best job we can right now!!!

IMG_0942

(Isn’t this picture just the sweetest thing?!)

I miss blogging and I promise my next post will be Bradley’s Birth Story. It was pretty EPIC so stay tuned ;)

Baby #2: Pregnancy Update 39 weeks

I’m 5 days away from my due date. It’s pretty surreal that within the next week we will be meeting our little boy. I’m super pumped.

My patience has been tested with this waiting game and I’m trying to keep my mind of the fact that I’m pregnant and waiting for his arrival. That’s easier said then done when I’m tired, hot, my belly is the size of a bowling ball and my appetite is getting more picky.

Anyways, being pregnant and a mom are the two hardest jobs and I’m super happy that I have this healthy boy growing inside of me. Pretty soon we will all get to meet him :)

Here is a 39 Week Update for you:

THE BABY IS about 19-21 inches long Weighing about 7-8lbs and the size of a watermelon!

Weight gained

I’m up 26 lbs

Gender:

It’s a BOY!!!

Workouts

my workouts have been good. I’m still teaching classes just not doing nearly as much as I was before! moving keeps me sane and it also feels good. I am not sure whether I will be teaching next week but we will see how I feel :)

IMG_0574

This picture was taken before teaching my Group Power Class!

Symptoms:

I’m pretty symptom free for the most part. My small symptoms are that I’m tired, I’ve had some braxton hicks contractions, mild cramping and muscle spasms. None of these have been serious and I feel like labor is NEVER going to happen although it has to! :)

Food Aversions:

I’m not eating that many veggies this week, my body seems to be staying away and I’m eating more carbs and fats.

Food Cravings:

  • Nuts, seeds, trail mix
  • PEACHES
  • Toast or potatoes
  • My moms potato salad yummmm
  • Sandwiches
  • cold foods like salads, raw veggies and fruit
  • I still need protein at every meal and have been eating lots of chicken and fish

Sleep:

Sleep has been okay. I wake up 2x to pee and go right back to sleep. I’m like a zombie!!! I have had a few times this past week I woke up with cramping but it was nothing!

Maternity clothes:

I have a select few workout outfits that I’m rocking. I wash them on the regular because right now I have to wear whats comfy and what fits! I still love my maternity shorts and tanks though too.

Stretch marks:

None yet!

Do I Miss anything:

I miss laying on my belly, I miss being able to bend over like a normal person, I miss exercising at a normal pace without needed to take a breather every so often.

I miss coffee & wine. Those both sound energizing and relaxing right now!!

Movement:

My little boy moves a ton but at certain times of the day. Some of his belly rolls make me feel sick to my stomach and I need to change positions. He still hiccups daily and throws me some kicks to the rib every once in a while.

Baby Items Purchased:

I bought some little boy shorts, pants and a onesie with a firetruck on it. Ava loves firetrucks so I assume so will our little boy!

IMG_0565

Wedding rings ON or OFF:

I finally took them off. I have no swelling but part of me was scared that something would happen if I kept them on!

Belly Button IN or OUT?

OUT OUT OUT.

I’m Looking Forward To:

Um… his arrival? It’s all I can think about and consumes my every waking thought. While I know these will be my final days as a pregnant lady, I think I have experienced enough and I’m ready to meet him. I am also ready for Ava to be a big sister. I know she is going to be the best helper!! I CAN’T WAIT.

LABOR SIGNS:

I had a couple real contractions this week but only one at a time. Is it bad to say I loved the pain?? I couldn’t help but get excited for a hot second and then my hopes were taken away.

This baby boy is in it for the long haul and is cozy.

IMG_0563

Random Things:

I wish jumping jacks would make this guy come out, but walking, exercise, pineapple, cleaning the kitchen floor, spicy food, it’s ALL A myth. He will come when he’s ready and that’s truly what I believe.

But really what’s he waiting for?? The heat wave to be over???

I had a doctor apt this week and all is well and I had no progress I’m stuck at 2cm 50% effaced!

That’s all I have for you today but I hope that we can all see this little boy soon ;)

WIAW: 7 more days (plus or minus)?!

Well hello Wednesday, you snuck up rather fast this week and I’m loving it!

I have officially 1 week until my due date. To say my level of excitement and anxiousness is low would be an understatement. I’m currently impatient and trying to do whatever I can to keep my mind side-tracked and my body busy so that I don’t think about it. The waiting game is one of the hardest parts of pregnancy and I didn’t have much of it when I was pregnant with Ava because she arrived early.

WHAT-I-ATE-WEDNESDAY-NEW-BUTTON-PEAS-AND-CRAYONS

SOO rather then ramble on about that stuff lets talk about some food. I decided to share my food journal from Tuesday (yesterday).

I woke up at 6am from my internal alarm clock. I came downstairs drank some water and poured myself a little iced coffee. While I started to make my eggs, I snacked on a couple bites of this chocolate chip muffin. I find that a little sugar in the morning helps settle my stomach . (or at least lets pretend that’s why I ate it)

BREAKFAST: I had 2 eggs, sauteed spinach and potatoes. Plus a piece of toast which is not pictured.

 IMG_0170

After breakfast I did some computer/blog work while Marc was still home and then got myself ready for the YMCA.

I ate a banana on the way to the Y.

IMG_6567

We weren’t there too long but I did a quick 30 minute cardio workout on the elliptical and some stretching.

SNACK: After we left the YMCA I ate a Cookie Dough Larabar.

DSC01039

Ava and I then took a trip to the library. I promised her we could return some books and get new ones. We usually go there every 2 weeks and she loves it.

LUNCH I decided to eat some leftovers from my mom’s cooking on the 4th. I had a BBQ pulled chicken sandwich with coleslaw and some potato salad. UMM yum. This meal totally hit the spot and I loved that I didn’t need to think about what to eat. It was right in front of me when I opened the fridge.

IMG_0549

A peach somehow made it into my lunch too. My little baby boy LOVES peaches. Can you blame him??

IMG_6456

Ava was quite tired from all the weekend fun but she wouldn’t nap. It seemed like something was the matter because she had no appetite. Rather then force her to try to sleep I let her lay on the floor and watch some TV.

SNACK: around 2pm I was hungry. I had a doctors appointment as well so I quickly snacked on a string cheese while I was in the waiting room.

IMG_7226

When I got home I had a bowl of cheerios with milk.

IMG_8373

It hit the spot.

Pretty soon it was time to make dinner. I wasn’t feeling anything as usual but we needed something so I opened up the freezer to see what we had.

DINNER: I made a simple meal of fish filets, french fries and cucumber slices. This meal was simple but exactly what my body needed.

IMG_0571

I left for Boot Camp around 6pm. I left feeling great but a sweaty mess. I just love my class and the energy everyone brings. I participated in some of the workout, I figured it would only help speed up this labor process right?!

POST WORKOUT SNACK: I refueled with a Quest bar.

IMG_2584

I haven’t had one of these in a very long time but I figured an extra protein boost was what I needed. After my shower I snacked on some Cherries with Ava. I was also craving salt and Cheeze its looked amazing!

IMG_5786IMG_0572

that was pretty much my night besides chatting with Marc for a little bit before bed. It wasn’t a bad day of food but not my favorite for sure!

For some more food inspiration check out the What I ate Wednesday Crew over on Arman’s Blog today!

What was something delicious you ate or snacked on this week?

Did you have any leftovers from 4th of July?

4th Of July Beach Fun

I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July weekend! Ours was perfect and relaxing. I always cherish an extra long weekend with the family and having Marc home makes the world of differences. We spent practically the whole weekend at the beach which was awesome, because once the baby arrives it’s probably going to be a bit hard to get there in the beginning.

I figured I would do a quick recap of our weekend for you:

Friday night Marc and I had a little date night at Harvest on Greenwich Avenue. We have been there plenty of times, but we love the food and atmosphere. My mom was kind enough to watch Ava for us so we could get out for a bit.

IMG_0518

We split a bunch of small plates rather then ordering entrees. We had my favorite brussel sprout salad, lamb meatballs which I wasn’t a fan of, grilled calamari, mussels, and a chopped salad which was delicious.

IMG_0519

Marc and I enjoyed our alone time, it was much needed :)

IMG_0537 (1) IMG_0534

These are some post dinner pics when my belly was at its fullest :)

IMG_0542

Saturday we spent the morning at the beach and in the afternoon headed to a friends pool.

IMG_0545 IMG_0546

It was a beautiful day and I’m glad we didn’t really spend a second inside!

Sunday was pretty much a repeat of Saturday and we headed to the beach again just for the morning.

IMG_0547

I have so much fun watching and playing with Ava. It’s amazing how happy kids are when they play with sand toys.

Sunday afternoon we BBQ’d with my family and kept it low key!

On the 4th of July we took Cooper & Ava to the field first thing in the morning before it got hot to run around and play before we headed to Byram Shore Beach to hang out.

IMG_0548

My parents joined us at the beach which was lovely. It’s always nice to have extra people looking out for Ava and playing with her. I was actually able to sit in a beach chair and relax for a bit!! AWESOME.

IMG_0561

Around 330pm my family came over for a BBQ.

IMG_0560 IMG_0558

It was a great evening and we enjoyed their company.

IMG_0561

everyone loves grandma!

IMG_0555

My mom did all the cooking which was pretty special and made the day so much easier for Marc and myself.

IMG_0551 IMG_0550

We even had a little ice cream cake for dessert.

IMG_0562

Think my dad is excited for this baby boy to arrive?? He picked out the cake.

Ava didn’t nap on the 4th so she was out cold by 7pm.

IMG_0557

Those are tired eyes!

Marc and I spent the night on the couch relaxing and watching TV. It seems like we watch TV once a week so it was nice to kick our feet up and chill.

Now it’s back to the work week and I’m looking forward to it. This weekend was amazing and I loved being outside but I can’t wait to have a schedule to follow to pass the time until our baby boy arrives!

What did you do for the 4th of July?

Baby #2: Pregnancy update Week 38

I’m currently 38 weeks + 2 days pregnant and there are 12 days until my due date. UMMMM… I’m psyched.

I’m a very punctual person and I always arrive early, so I hope he follows my lead!!! Each day he stays put I know he’s getting healthier and stronger so that’s always a plus. I’ve learned before with Ava that the baby will come when he’s ready but the question is will he come early, on time or late?? Your guess is as good as mine and to be honest I would rather not think about it.

Every day people are asking me how I’m feeling, if I have any symptoms, or they tell me when they think the baby will be coming. The truth is NO one has an answer and that’s the hardest part of this waiting game.

I’m feeling pretty good these days and still functioning as I normally would. I am moving a bit slower, I feel a bit heavier and I have had some cranky moments but that’s expected when you are this pregnant right?! As much as I’m ready to meet our little guy, each of these days with just Ava has been super special. She’s said some amazing things to make me smile this week, for instance yesterday out of no where she said Mommy… I said Yes Ava, and she said I love you!! I could’ve cried on the spot. Of course I said I love you back and I told her how sweet that was. She sure knows how to make me happy and she’s been so much fun these past 2 weeks. It’s crazy to know things are about to drastically change for both of us :)

I’m looking forward to the long weekend ahead with my family and can’t wait to spend the days outside!

Here’s a 38 Week update for you:

THE BABY IS about 19-21 inches long Weighting about 6 lbs 14oz- 7 lbs according to my doctor appointment yesterday!

Weight gained

I’m up 25 lbs

Gender:

It’s a BOY!!!

Workouts

I’m back to teaching and it feels great. It’s so funny when you are told not to do something it makes you want to do it even more right? Well that’s how I felt from week 36-37 but now that I’m back to my normal routine I’m SOO happy. Exercise is both mentally and physically important to me. I love my job and helping others, but it keeps my mood stable and it is sort of my therapy on days I need it to be.

IMG_0513

So far this week I have taught 4 classes and I haven’t had any issues besides some serious sweat dripping. This heat is crazy and I feel like I can’t drink enough water! I get short of breathe here and there but it’s not any different then before.

I plan to keep teaching until the baby comes and the doctor is supportive of it!

Symptoms:

I’ve had some braxton hicks contractions, mild cramping and muscle spasms. These all come randomly and I don’t really think much about it because it’s been happening for weeks now!! I want some real symptoms, bring it on ;)

Food Aversions:

I’m leaning more towards carbs lately and I think my body is telling me to stay away from veggies. My stomach is a little sensitive this past week so I’m trying to listen to it.

Food Cravings:

  • I LOVE PEACHES. They are necessary every day.
  • Protein is important for me at every meal and when I don’t have it, things go haywire
  • CARBS are making a huge appearance. bread, pretzels, and potatoes are daily staples.
  • I really like all fruit and have been eating about 3 servings a day

Sleep:

Sleep has been okay. I wake up 2x at most to pee per night. The last 2 nights Cooper has barked to go out at 3am and that really messed me up because Ava wakes up and we have to get her back to bed. Besides that though I know my sleep would be good! I have taken a few occasional naps on days that I need it and those have helped.

Maternity clothes:

I’m living in maternity clothes and loose tops that I feel comfortable in. With the warmer weather I’m pretty much in shorts and tanks every day!

Stretch marks:

None yet!

Do I Miss anything:

I miss comfortable sleep. I feel like my belly is weighing me down and it’s hard to stay put but I somehow manage.

Of course I miss the usual exercise, bending over, putting my shoes on like a normal 31 year old and not bumping into things with my belly ;)

Movement:

My little boy moves a ton but at certain times of the day. I felt his leg and foot the other night for a while and he didn’t move it which was weird to me. I immediately had Marc feel it and he thought it was crazy too!! I get little kicks to the rib cage and hiccups DAILY!

Baby Items Purchased:

We haven’t bought anything new this week, but we did move Ava to a big girl bed this week so that freed up the crib!! We are going to wait to set it up in the baby’s room until she’s fully adjusted to her new room/bed which she LOVES. Miracle!!!!

IMG_0512

38 Weeks Pregnant and I love that big belly!

Wedding rings ON or OFF:

ON but I’m debating whether to take them off. Everyone says I should to be safe.

Belly Button IN or OUT?

OUT OUT OUT.

I’m Looking Forward To:

I’m counting down the days until we can meet this little boy of ours. I’m trying to soak up the alone time with Ava and I have been cherishing all her cuddles, hugs, playtime and stories. I’m trying not to get upset with her if she doesn’t listen or does something bad. I know she has a huge adjustment ahead of her and I want to help make it an easy transition by being there for her as much as possible.

IMG_0537 (1)

Cooper loves to be in pictures (38 Weeks 3 days)

LABOR SIGNS:

I’ve had cramping and pressure plus some braxton hicks contractions but nothing that makes me feel like I’m anywhere close to labor.

I can’t believe I’m going to say it but I want to feel those REAL contractions :)

IMG_0527 (1)

my belly looks HUGE in this picture!! (38 Weeks 3 days)

Random Things:

I had a doctor apt yesterday morning and I’m 2 cm 50% effaced still. The doctor can feel the baby’s head so I guess everything is progressing the way it should. There’s no way of telling time so I’m trying my best not to think about it and just take each day as it comes!!

It’s easier to say that….. 14 days until we can hold this little baby boy and I can’t wait!!!

IMG_0534

One more picture.. This one cracks me up because Cooper literally was in ALL the photos we tried to take, but at least he sat there like a good boy! Marc is laughing because he’s pretty much staring at my big belly and doesn’t know what to do in this awkward picture ;)

WIAW: 38 Weeks Pregnant

I can’t believe there are 14 days left until we meet our little boy. Obviously he can come sooner or later but the fact that it’s not so far away is pretty exciting and the anticipation is really making the days go by slower.

I’m trying to keep busy and not think about it but my mind won’t stop thinking about how my labor will start and when it will happen. I guess being through it before makes me know a little about what to expect where as before I had NO clue.

Anyways, rather then ramble about my thoughts I’m going to share my food journal with you from Monday.

My food choices have been all over the place and I find myself eating more carbs and snack stuff.

WHAT-I-ATE-WEDNESDAY-NEW-BUTTON-PEAS-AND-CRAYONS

Monday morning I woke up around 6am, drank some water and a little iced coffee while I started making my breakfast. I had Eggs, spinach and toast and kept it simple before Group power class.

IMG_9674

I was super excited to teach class and even a little nervous as to how I would do but class went great. I felt good, I never struggled and I made it through without any issues.

After class I ate a banana and a square bar (which Ava took a bite of) I had to open a second bar so she could eat one. She loves them!

IMG_0298 IMG_0077

We headed to target after our snack. I had a return to make and figured we could shop around for a bit. My dad decided to come with us since he was off from work that day. We ended up buying lots of snacks and food, go figure right? While we were shopping through the store I snacked on peanut butter crackers because I started to get a headache. I figured I needed something salty. I also chugged 32oz of water and that helped a ton.

After we got home I immediately ate because I was worried my headache would come back, but luckily it didn’t. I had a salad with chicken and a small slice of cheese pizza that was leftover from the weekend.

IMG_7036  IMG_0507

I also ate some delicious cherries.

IMG_5786

Ava and I lounged around after lunch, I did some cleaning and organizing around the house and took advantage of the free time.

I ate a yogurt parfait and some pretzels before we headed over to my parents for the late afternoon. We hung out on their deck and Ava played with bubbles for like 30 minutes. We bought a bubble gun and it was so much fun. I even enjoyed using it myself.

IMG_9979

We headed home around 5:45pm and I was starving. That always means a disaster in the kitchen. Thank goodness for leftovers.

As I was debating what to eat, I snacked on a leftover chicken wing. UM. so good.

I decided to eat this chicken francese, veggies & potatoes meal. I only ate half of this, it was pretty good but the chicken wasn’t my favorite.

IMG_0507 IMG_0491

It seems like I’m eating every 2 hours these days, but it works so I’m going with it. After a late night walk with Cooper we came home and I whipped up a batch of applesauce brownies and had a small bowl. I wasn’t craving chocolate or anything but I just felt like dessert!

IMG_0986

(this is a recycled photo since I ate mine too fast and didn’t snap a picture!)

10pm rolled around and I was pretty exhausted but I new I needed something else to eat before bed. Pretzels for the win.

IMG_0509

So this wasn’t exactly my healthiest day of food but it worked and I enjoyed most of my meals. To be honest I’m looking forward to not being pregnant and not having weird aversions anymore!

If you need some more food inspiration check out the What I ate Wednesday Crew over on Laura’s Blog and find some food ideas.

What’s something yummy you ate this week?

Pampering the pregnant mama

Happy Monday!!!

I’m so excited it’s Monday. I know that’s weird but I get to teach Group Power today and I truly missed it these past 10 days. I’m definitely going to ease back in this week and it could be my last week teaching so I guess that’s why I’m pumped for it.

This weekend was perfect. I know that’s a bold statement but that’s exactly how I felt when I woke up Sunday morning. Everything was just going smoothly and I couldn’t have been happier.

Saturday morning we woke up around 630am and I decided to head out and get us Dunkin Donuts coffees and muffins. I haven’t had a decaf coffee in a while because my stomach hasn’t been up to it, but for some reason I wanted one.

IMG_0470

I also felt like we ate super healthy this week so why not have a chocolate chip muffin???

Saturday was Cooper’s 4th Birthday so we spent the day treating him like the King that he is.

IMG_0476

We made bacon with our breakfast and of course my little doggie got some.

IMG_0478

We took him to the park to run around and watch him smile. That’s honestly one of my favorite things to do. We are very good about giving him 2 walks a day so he can get his exercise but there’s something about seeing him with other dogs that is so fun.

After the park we headed to Tod’s Point Beach to enjoy the PERFECT weather.

IMG_0494

Marc said it was kinda cool out but this pregnant lady thought the breeze and cooler air was perfect. I didn’t sweat once and I could’ve spent the whole day there.

IMG_0496

Ava enjoyed splashing around in the water

IMG_0495

playing with her toys and just being a kid.

 IMG_0485

She’s a goofball too.

IMG_0480

It’s amazing how kids can play with themselves at a certain age, and I love watching her!

IMG_0487

We had an awesome lunch together with a pretty view before heading home. Ava fell asleep within 2 minutes of the car ride. Mission accomplished haha.

I then headed to the nail salon to treat myself to a manicure and pedicure which I actually had a gift card for. I got a spa pedicure which was amazing. It came with a foot reflexology massage and also a chair massage. Umm….  PERFECT again.

IMG_0488

I left feeling the most relaxed I have felt in WEEKS. It was very much needed. The rest of the night we spent hyping up Ava’s new big girl bed that we set up. She said bye to her crib and absolutely loved having a big bed. I couldn’t have been happier that she was so excited and pumped about it.

She also slept like a CHAMP. I for sure thought that we were gonna have a rough night but when my girls asleep and comfy she’s passed out!!

Rather then ramble on about all the things we did Sunday I’ll keep it short and sweet.

I got a prenatal massage from my friend Michelle… I told you in the title of this post (pamper the pregnant lady) it was fabulous!

Marc’s parents spent the rest of the day with us and it was a great end to the weekend.

(This is an older picture of Ava with Marc’s parents, but she loves them and I felt like I should share it!)

Now that I’m super relaxed and got everything I wanted completed on my to-do list, my little baby boy can come wheneverrrrr he wants :)

Do you ever feel like you have had the perfect weekend?

Do you ever treat yourself to massages??

Baby #2: Pregnancy Update Weeks 36 & 37

Yay for being full term!!! It’s been such a relief for Marc and I to have reached this point. This pregnancy has tested me a lot, from the beginning nausea and morning sickness, to abnormal test results, to the stomach flu a second bout of stomach flu a month later, a few migraines, I think it’s almost over? I feel like my body has been through a lot of stress and I’m happy to say that this past month has been great!!!!

I have definitely cut back on exercise. Exhaustion has taken over but I’m still feeling overall good besides the tiredness (which to be honest we all experience on a normal basis!! especially with kids).

I’m super anxious to meet our baby boy, but I know he’s coming so I’m trying to enjoy my time to get things done and do stuff with Ava. I’ve also started treating myself to a trip to the hair salon, nail salon and you know the fun stuff like massages that I have scheduled this weekend!! :) A little pampering always feels nice.

Anyways, here’s a quick update for you!!

(I am currently 37 weeks 2 days)

THE BABY IS about 19 inches long, the size of a large cantaloupe or head of romaine lettuce (this is always so funny to me!) He is weighing about 6 lbs 14oz according to my doctor appointment yesterday!

Weight gained

I’m up around 24 lbs..

Gender:

It’s a BOY!!!

Workouts

I took this past week off from exercise so that I could reach full term without having the baby early since I showed progress at 1 cm 50% effaced at my 36 week apt. That was a struggle for me since I love to teach my classes. I almost felt lost and out of place!! I didn’t know what to do with myself and I still found myself tired even though I wasn’t exercising.

I walked Cooper daily with Marc and Ava but that was the extent of my exercise!! I’m looking forward to be able to do more this next week now that I’m cleared :)

Picture taken at 36 weeks

Symptoms:

Besides being EXHAUSTED, my symptoms are rather minimal. I’ve had some braxton hicks contractions and mild cramps but nothing that is alarming.

I have been experiencing some sharp muscle spasms in my inner thighs and right butt cheek. I know it sounds funny but it’s SOOO WEIRD. Marc laughs at me but the sharp pain hurts even though it only lasts a few seconds.

Food Aversions:

I’m loving most foods which is great, but after 5pm I get super picky and tend to eat more bland foods like cheerios, crackers, toast, etc.

Whatever works!!

Food Cravings:

  • I LOVE PEACHES. I have one every day and maybe even 2. They are soo good
  • I also love watermelon and berries
  • white bread has been making a lot of appearances and english muffins
  • I still love potatoes of all kind
  • Chicken, beef and fish are a necessity at every meal. I need my protein
  • My sugar cravings and chocolate cravings haven’t been as strong but I did enjoy ice cream this week!

Sleep:

I don’t even want to say it, but sleep has been pretty good to me these last 5 nights. Fingers are crossed. I have been waking up 1-2x a night to pee which isn’t bad.

Maternity clothes:

Give me all the stretchy clothes especially shorts. I’m always hot so I need to wear shorts and loose tank tops.

Stretch marks:

None yet!

37 Weeks pregnant

Do I Miss anything:

I miss sleeping through the night but I’m over it. I know it’s not going to happen for another few months so I’m trying to prepare myself!

I miss moving easier, bending over easier, being able to pick Ava up without worrying about my belly! I also miss exercising normally.

I figured I would snap a picture from the front view. Which looks totally different then the side profile. (37 weeks)

Movement:

My little baby boy is getting big so the movements are different and more uncomfortable. He hiccups at least once a day and once at night. I love it except for when I’m trying to sleep at night!

Baby Items Purchased:

We have purchased some smaller baby items that we need, like blankets, burp cloths a sound machine. We also got a ton of clothes from my baby sprinkle that my amazing friends threw for me.

Wedding rings ON or OFF:

ON but I might take them off. I never had an issue with Ava and I don’t now but something about the heat and warm weather makes me nervous to have them on.

Belly Button IN or OUT?

Sometimes OUT and sometimes flat! Mainly out though.

I’m Looking Forward To:

I’m looking forward to each day I have left of this pregnancy. As much as I want this little guy to come I’m trying to enjoy being pregnant and embracing these last few weeks with a baby in my belly.

I am looking forward to each doctor’s appointment and I definitely can’t wait to see Ava with her baby brother.

LABOR SIGNS:

These are similar to my symptoms. Some braxton hicks contractions and cramping. I’m also dilated and effaced which means things are happening.

Random Things:

At my appointment yesterday the baby was head down and he weighed almost 7 lbs which is crazy to me. Sure it’s not 100% accurate and he could be 6 or 8 lbs but I’m happy to hear he’s a healthy boy in the 58% for size :)

I’m currently 2cm and 50% effaced which is great and we are making progress. I am so interested to see how much longer I have to wait to meet this little boy. It could be weeks or days. Last night I was super crampy and this morning I was very crampy. I’ll take that as a good sign that things are moving along.

I can’t wait!!!

WIAW: I’m full term!

I’m super excited it’s Wednesday and even more excited that I am officially 37 weeks & full term. It feels amazing to say that and I have been waiting a while for this moment. I feel a huge weight lifted off my shoulders because this past week of not teaching classes was mentally challenging for me. I felt lost, I didn’t know how to pass time and I just wanted it to be today so that if I for some reason had the baby everything would be okay.

So here we are and I’m pumped :)

WHAT-I-ATE-WEDNESDAY-NEW-BUTTON-PEAS-AND-CRAYONS

I figured I would share my food journal with you from Monday which is usually an active day for me but this week it was rather slow since I wasn’t allowed to teach classes.

My food choices were still similar but my quantity was a little lower due to my activity level being so low.

I started my morning off a little later then usual and got up at 630am. I immediately headed downstairs to make breakfast. This mama needs to eat ASAP so that nausea didn’t take over.

I had 2 eggs scrambled with zucchini and potatoes.

I loved it but the picture looks terrible.

Ava and I headed to the YMCA so I could do some training. It was weird to head there on a Monday and not be teaching Group Power :( I popped in the class to let them know I was still around but just taking the week off since my doctor didn’t want me to go into early labor because my body was already progressing.

After training my clients we headed home for a snack.

I had a banana and an avocado toast with egg.

For lunch I had a leftover Bailiwick Salad from Firehouse deli. It was just as good the next day and their grilled chicken is out of this world. I always love salads that I don’t have to make too.

IMG_0450-2

I also had a piece of italian bread with my salad plus some of these tortilla chips & a peach.

IMG_0451-2IMG_6456

For an afternoon snack I felt like a yogurt parfait, are you surprised?

IMG_0135

Dinners have been hard for me to eat lately, I don’t know why but I guess pregnancy has it’s weird food issues and this is one of mine. I was so happy when I felt in the mood for steak so I quickly pan fried some sirloin steak tips with a baked sweet potato. It was so good except I couldn’t eat more than 1/2 of my sweet potato, I’m pretty sure I only wanted the steak!

IMG_0981

An early snack of peanut butter and toast made it’s way into the menu and I think that was due to the fact that I really didn’t finish a lot of my dinner (I only had one of these 2 pieces of toast)

IMG_9917

I also capped the night with this bowl of 1/2 mint chocolate chip 1/2 cookies n cream ice cream because I just felt like it :)

IMG_0454-2

I’m happy to say that the bowl of ice cream was a great way to end the night, and Cooper even got to lick my bowl after because he lovessss ice cream.
