Team Alexander John

On January 25, 2014, my sister-in-law and her husband welcomed their beautiful baby boy Alexander John into this world eight weeks early, only to have to say goodbye a mere day later. It was not the outcome any of us expected.

12794639_10207702981365926_3919338045703096355_n

Everyday thousands of babies are born too soon, too small and often very sick. So with empty arms and a broken heart, Melanie and her husband would like to try to help other families with premature babies.

Together as a family, we are walking in March of Dimes, March for Babies at the end of April.  The March of Dimes works to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.

Please consider making a donation in honor of my nephew Alexander to help us help other babies begin healthy lives!

WIAW: Two Cravings

It’s Wednesday which means we are getting closer to the weekend and I have my food journal to share with you! Which one is more exciting?????

I am currently 25 weeks pregnant about 3 months left!! My food choices are pretty normal these days minus a few chocolate cravings ;)

WHAT-I-ATE-WEDNESDAY-NEW-BUTTON-PEAS-AND-CRAYONS

Since it’s Wednesday I figured I should link up with the What I ate Wednesday Crew over on Arman’s Blog today to share my food journal with you from Monday. I can’t say this is my healthiest day of eats. I did eat cereal/granola a couple times but it is what it is so here ya go:

For Breakfast I whipped up 2 eggs with diced peppers & potatoes.

IMG_9821

I’m not going to lie, green peppers aren’t my favorite but this worked that morning.

I taught Group Power at 730am. We had a lively & enthusiastic bunch for an early Monday class. I left feeling super sweaty and my muscles were exhausted. I immediately snacked on a banana in the car and then Ava stole 1/2 of it…. story of my life.

I got home and split another banana with her.

IMG_6567

plus 3 of these Chocolate Shakeology Protein bites

IMG_3502

We also ate some Peanut butter puff puffs as she calls them.

IMG_9842

My 2nd class was from 1030-1130 and I somehow breezed through the workout even though I felt tired going in.

I came home to eat a random leftover lunch of Tilapia, zucchini & 1/2 a sweet potato.

IMG_9804

I was still hungry so I ate a piece of Avocado toast with it. I told you it was random.

IMG_9839

At around 1:15 Ava went down for a nap and so did this mama. I think my body was wiped from getting up at 5am, teaching 2 classes and being pregnant on top of it.

I napped for 40 minutes and I woke up feeling groggy, hungry, and thirsty. That’s not a fun combo.

I ate a yogurt parfait with greek yogurt, strawberries & granola. I barely tasted it because I ate so fast but I know it was good.

 IMG_9741

Normally I would take Cooper for an afternoon walk before Ava and I had some fun and made dinner but I was too exhausted so I opted for some computer work and down time.

It was exactly what my body needed.

We did a lot of cooking and eating home the past week or so and when dinner rolled around I didn’t feel like cooking at all. We decided to get Salads & Sandwiches from Cosi.

IMG_9837

I got a salad with mixed greens, roasted red peppers, pistachios, grapes & gorgonzola. It also came with some whole grain bread and I ate 1/2 of it. It was a little tough to chew so I didn’t finish it.

IMG_9840

Marc and I caught the end of the Voice and snacked on some chocolate granola from Trader Joe’s. This stuff is so addicting and I’m never buying it again it’s that good. I couldn’t stop eating it.

I know you are like why would you not buy it again, but its one of those foods that I can’t hold myself back from eating the entire box!! SOOOO.. it’s gonna have to be an occasional purchase ;)

Your turn!!!

What’s something delicious you ate this week?

Do you have any foods that once you start eating you can’t stop??

Kids Make Holidays Better

This weekend was so much fun and I owe it to Ava and all her excitement for the Easter holiday. Since about Thursday night she kept talking about the Easter bunny, when he was coming and what he was bringing her.

I couldn’t help but be excited myself.

I took a bunch of pictures this weekend but I also put my phone down a lot to just enjoy the time with my family.

Here is a quick Photo Recap of our Easter filled weekend:

We went to an Easter Egg hunt at the Glenville Fire Department in Greenwich.

IMG_9785 IMG_9786

It was a great event for the kids.

 IMG_9809 IMG_9783

Ava enjoyed TOO much candy & munchkins and eventually her belly hurt but she loved it.

IMG_9790

She won a kids raffle easter basket that had more toys then we knew what to do with.

IMG_9787

She played with sidewalk chalk.

IMG_9808 IMG_9806

Dyed Easter Eggs at home with Marc and I.

IMG_9810

On Easter Sunday she couldn’t wait to see what the Easter bunny hid for her.

IMG_9812 IMG_9817

Especially the eggs around the house!

IMG_9814

Cooper was just as excited for the hunt.

IMG_9834 IMG_9830

We basically had an ALL day Easter egg hunt for her at our house and at my parents.

IMG_9831

She was beyond EXCITED when she found eggs.

IMG_9833

It was such a great day and I can’t help but smile when I think of how happy she was.

IMG_9829

We even managed to get a group picture and a big smile from Ava!

How was your holiday weekend?

Did you have an Easter Egg hunt?

Baby #2: Pregnancy update 24 Weeks

I decided to share another update with you guys. I’m feeling so much better this week and I love looking back on these updates so I figure I should log more of them!!

With only a few weeks left in the 2nd trimester I am feeling good and happy that I have been able to do almost everything comfortably at this point!!

PREGNANCY UPDATE 24 WEEKS

The Baby is the size of a CANTALOUPE

Weight gained

No weight gain this past week, up about 13 lbs

Gender:

It’s a BOY!!!

IMG_9751

(Picture taken at 24 weeks with a little side of Ava cheesing)

Workouts

My workouts this past week were back to normal

here’s how they looked:

WEDNESDAY 1 hour Group Power Strength training class plus 20 minute walk with Cooper

THURSDAY Fit For Life class & Boot camp class

FRIDAY 30 minute walk with Cooper

SATURDAY 25 minute Cardio Boxing workout

SUNDAY 20 minute Walk with Cooper

MONDAY Fit For Life class & Group Power class

TUESDAY 20 Minute walk with Cooper & Boot Camp Class

Symptoms:

My only symptom this past week was exhaustion. i was tired a lot and I napped way more then I normally would. I think that is due to chasing a toddler, walking the dog, teaching lots of classes and of course being pregnant on top of it!

IMG_9754

Food Aversions:

NO AVERSIONS… that feels amazing ;)

Food Cravings:

  • BROWNIES…. I had 2 brownie sundaes this past week! I have no guilt about it either!
  • Salads. I am totally on board with this craving. It’s healthy, easy to make, and now that the weather is nice it’s refreshing.
  • Chicken Cutlets
  • Avocado
  • Eggs cooked any way!
  • POTATOES… all of them

Sleep:

My sleep this past week hasn’t been great and that’s probably why I’m napping more. Ava has been waking up in the middle of the night which is totally not cool and also random so I’m praying it’s just a phase. Last night was a great night though everyone slept amazing. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

Besides that I know my body wants to sleep like a rock!

Maternity clothes:

Most of my workout pants are uncomfortable to wear because of the tight waistband. I have a few bigger size capris that I’m sticking too. I am also rocking some maternity leggings & tops!! They are too comfortable not to wear.

Stretch marks:

None yet!

Do I Miss anything:

I miss laying on my belly!!! This one has been tough for me but I am sticking to sleeping on my side.

I miss ab work. Planks are great but I miss all that core rotation and twisting. I also miss having strength to do full body pushups. I engage my core too much on that so it’s currently out of my workout routine for the most part.

Movement:

Baby boy is on the move and has shocked me on several occasions during the day when I am working. He is most active after I eat fruit or at night when I’m ready to fall asleep!!!

IMG_9740

(Picture taken at 24 weeks after teaching 2 classes)

Baby Items Purchased:

I haven’t purchased anything in a while but I’m looking forward to getting his room all set up!!

Wedding rings ON or OFF:

ON

Belly Button IN or OUT?

My belly button is in on some days and out on others. I know that’s weird but it depends on the baby’s position. I’m not a fan of the outie belly button it just feels weird.

I’m Looking Forward To:

These past few days have been nice weather wise and I’m enjoying being outside with Ava & Cooper. I’m looking forward to more warm weather days so I can enjoy my time with them before the baby arrives!

I’m also looking forward to my check up at the Dr’s office next week. I love hearing the heart beat!

Random Things:

There was one night this past week that the baby was having a dance party in my belly. He made some crazy moves in there and one of them I feel like I never experienced with Ava. I have a feeling this little guy is going to be a little stronger with her. That makes me nervous for those bigger movements in the 3rd trimester!!

I do love the movements though so he can keep them coming!!!

WIAW: Brownie Craving

Happy Hump Day!!

This week is a normal week for me and my body is feeling it. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t looking forward to Easter weekend already! I’m sore all over and while I like being sore, pregnancy sore is a little different and makes me want to be lazy!! I didn’t do anything different I just hadn’t been active for a week so I’m feeling the workouts this week!!!

WHAT-I-ATE-WEDNESDAY-NEW-BUTTON-PEAS-AND-CRAYONS

Since it’s Wednesday I figured I should link up with the What I ate Wednesday Crew over on Laura’s Blog today to share my food journal with you from Monday’s active day.

I woke up around 545am. A little earlier then I would like but sometimes the extra time in the morning is actually nice. I had 1/2 cup of coffee and this breakfast:

IMG_9737

2 eggs, sautéed spinach in olive oil and sliced potatoes.

I taught Group Power from 730-830am and was dripping sweat. I also left the class hungry again.

IMG_6567

I snacked on a banana as I went to pick Ava up. We headed home for some more snacking ;)

IMG_9635

I had a piece of toast with avocado and egg

IMG_8154

plus some mixed nuts!

It was filling and tasty.

My second class at 1030 was action packed and we didn’t stop moving for the hour. The room was hot too so I felt like it was more challenging for some reason.

When I got home I prepared Ava’s lunch. She wanted chicken nuggets, apples, and french fries. I had some leftover Corned Beef, Cabbage & Potatoes.

IMG_9697

This plate looks like a hot mess but it was super tasty and salty!

Ava woke up from a short nap and I decided to eat a quick snack before we headed out for a long walk with Cooper.

IMG_9741

I opted for my yogurt combo… Chobani yogurt with strawberries and granola. I’m obsessed with parfaits and they are always so tasty and satisfying!!

We walked for about 25/30 minutes with a water break in there for me and Ava. I think we all like the fresh air and being outside. Thank goodness spring is here because I can’t wait to spend time at the beach, parks, and playgrounds!!!

For dinner we kept it simple with salads.

IMG_9742

My salad had mixed greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, celery, chicken and balsamic dressing.

IMG_9744

I was craving some carbs so I also had 1/2 a sweet potato.

The rest of the night was spent playing with Ava and reading her books before bed.

Marc and I ended our night with an episode of Scandal & Brownie sundaes.

IMG_9747

Because why not??? When you are pregnant and you crave something you totally go with it or else your body is NOT happy ;) Plus I’m trying to make some gains from being sick. At least that’s one of my other excuses.

Anyways, it was a great day of eats even though my meals were simple and not creative. Now… lets bring on the holiday weekend?? I can’t wait for Ava do some Easter Egg Hunting.

What’s something yummy you ate this week?

Did you have cravings when you were pregnant?

Small Projects & Weekend Recap

Well hello there…

Monday rolled around rather quickly and I have a busy day ahead of me. Luckily, I’m feeling well rested from the weekend and ready to tackle the day.

My weekend didn’t have too many exciting plans but here’s a quick recap for you:

Friday night was our low key night. We made dinner at home. I was in the mood for salmon so I went with it.

IMG_9716IMG_9721

These pictures are blurry but Ava and Marc had a dance party. She thought it was hilarious.

Once Ava was asleep Marc and I watched Grey’s Anatomy from 2 weeks ago. I’m so behind from being sick!

I never get sick of that show.

Saturday we were up bright and early as usual. There’s no sleeping in anymore and I’m okay with it. I like getting the day started off early.

Rather then sit around and waste time I started doing some small house projects that were on my To-Do List. I cleaned out some drawers that had collected unnecessary clutter, sorted through papers and bills that have gotten pushed to the side and started organizing my life a little more.

I opted for a morning workout at home. I was feeling good but decided to keep it short & sweet and not push myself too hard. I did a cardio kickboxing workout for about 25 minutes. It’s my ultimate favorite on demand workout and it secretly gets me fired up!!!

IMG_9710

We got a surprise visit from Marc’s parents who decided to drive down from Rhode island to see us. It was a nice surprise and I’m pretty sure Ava was jumping for joy when they arrived.

In the afternoon we went to the park and playground to let Cooper run around while Ava played on the slide.

IMG_9731IMG_9730

It was fun.

Once again our night ended very low key and we made a delicious steak dinner, watched TV and relaxed!

IMG_9713

Since Ava and I just recently got over the stomach flu relaxing was a huge part of the weekend. I didn’t want to push either of us and have one of us end up sick again!

Sunday morning was another early one for us. I drank a little coffee and ate breakfast… as tired as I was I decided to take on another project around the house. MY CLOSET & DRESSER DRAWERS... You guys, I’m not organized with my clothes and somehow I have too much! I got out some bins and put stuff away in our attic, I filled a bag for goodwill and man did it feel good to organize that part of my life.

It’s the small things that make you feel good sometimes!

IMG_9732 (1)

In the afternoon we made another park & playground trip so that Cooper and Ava could have some fun.

IMG_9729IMG_9728

The picture on the right is Cooper from a distance coming to find us at the playground once he realized we walked away from the field. He was in his GLORY.

All in all it was a productive but relaxing weekend. I couldn’t really ask for more :)

Do you have a “To-Do List?”

If so, how often do you get to the things on those list?

Baby #2: Pregnancy Update Week 23

HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY!!!!!

I decided to share a pregnancy update with you today. My last update was at 21 weeks and I feel like things are starting to really change around here.

My belly is officially a round bump and I love it. It’s a different shape then my belly was with Ava and I’m loving that it’s different. It’s more round and pops out more. With Ava I was kind of big all around my waist and my stomach didn’t stick out as much.

I appreciate so many more body changes the second time around and I feel blessed that this baby is growing strong and healthy!!!

PREGNANCY UPDATE 23 WEEKS

The Baby is the length of a GRAPEFRUIT, Weighing about 1.5 lbs

Weight gained

about 13 lbs.. I lost a couple pounds when I was sick but once I started eating/drinking again I gained it back quick!

Gender:

It’s a BOY!!!

 IMG_9677

(Picture taken at 23 weeks)

Workouts

My workouts this week were very limited because I was so sick.

here’s how they looked:

WEDNESDAY 1 hour Group Power Strength training class plus 20 minute walk with Cooper

THURSDAY Boot camp class

After Thursday… it went downhill and I didn’t workout until Wednesday again. My body needed the rest!!

Symptoms:

Besides Stomach Flu Symptoms, I don’t have any crazy symptoms to share. I am peeing more frequently but that is expected I think!

Food Aversions:

Not too many aversions. Once I was back to my normal eating I wanted to eat EVERYTHING!!

Food Cravings:

  • yogurt parfaits
  • chicken, meat, eggs
  • carbs.. bread, potatoes, oats
  • fruit, in particular watermelon and blackberries!
  • avocado toast

Sleep:

My sleep this past week was non-existent. Between Ava being sick and myself I had a couple nights in a row that I only slept 4 hours. Pretty miserable right?? I’m hoping things look better in this next week and I’m able to get back to my 8 hrs!!!

Maternity clothes:

I’m super pumped that I got some maternity clothes for my birthday. I didn’t want to buy myself anything but the truth is I needed it!! I got 6 different tops, 2 pairs of pants and a dress!!! I can’t wait for spring weather to wear it all :)

Stretch marks:

None yet! which reminds me to lotion more…

Do I Miss anything:

I miss laying on my belly!!! I caught myself sleeping that way a couple times but I’m making a conscious effort to sleep on my side now.

I miss ab work. I can still do plank exercises but sit ups are off the list and I’m basically coaching my clients and classes through the ab work rather then doing it.

Movement:

Baby boy is pretty active particularly between 9-11pm. He moves whenever I eat fruit or something with sugar in it and he has startled me several times at work when I’m teaching and training. Those belly rolls sometimes make me queezy.

IMG_9679

(Picture taken at 23 weeks. Please excuse my pale sick face!!)

Baby Items Purchased:

No new recent purchases, but we will be doing some work in the babies room soon :)

Wedding rings ON or OFF:

ON

Belly Button IN or OUT?

My belly button is on the verge of being an outie. This is totally new to me and never happened with Ava. I’m assuming it’s because my belly has been stretched before and this little boy is making my belly grow a lot faster.

I’m Looking Forward To:

I’m looking forward to the warmer weather to be outside more with Ava and Cooper. I want to take full advantage of all the time I have with her before this baby is born. I am also looking forward to buying a new carpet for the baby’s room!

Random Things:

We got to see our baby boy last week and hear his heart beat. It was amazing. We also got to hear the heart beat again when I was in the Emergency Room which was reassuring that he was doing okay!!

On a random note, I would be lying if I wasn’t looking forward to sleep every night. I know I’m exhausted because I’ve been lacking in that department but seriously sleep has been on my mind a lot lately!!

That pretty much wraps up my update for this week!!

WIAW: My food is almost back to normal

After 5 days of being out of commission with the stomach flu, my appetite is finally coming back and I’m able to eat normal foods besides toast, bananas, apples, chicken, cheerios and other bland foods you eat when you don’t feel well. Lets just say any bit of flavor to food has made my taste buds so happy!

WHAT-I-ATE-WEDNESDAY-NEW-BUTTON-PEAS-AND-CRAYONS

Since it’s Wednesday I figured I should link up with the What I ate Wednesday Crew over on Arman’s Blog today to share my food journal with you from Tuesday. Monday I didn’t eat too much because of my stomach issues so yesterday was a more appropriate day to share.

I woke up around 7:15am which is LATE for this girl. I have been taking full advantage of my sick days off to rest as much as possible. I woke up, drank some water and started making my OWN breakfast. Marc had taken over with making food when I was sick but I’m proud that I made my own eggs, spinach and toast :)

IMG_9674

I almost finished every bite so that was a huge accomplishment.

Ava and I ventured out for one of the first times in days. We went to the YMCA for a bit and then to the grocery store. When we returned I had a Chocolate Shakeology and 1/2 a banana.

  IMG_4741

I needed those vitamins!!

My dad had the day off and offered to buy me lunch. I’m all about it. I ordered a grilled chicken & grilled veggie wrap with honey mustard. It was delicious and I was so proud that I was able to eat a healthy meal with vegetables.

IMG_8502

I also had a handful of Ava’s Cheeze its. She makes them look SOO good.

In the afternoon we took Cooper for a walk and ran another errand. I wasn’t too hungry but I snacked on an apple just to get some extra food in.

IMG_9061

My dinner wasn’t anything wild, but hey I’m real and this is sometimes what you throw together. Leftover chicken marsala, sliced cucumbers and a baked potato with butter. It was simple and did the job.

IMG_9683

After boot camp I was actually hungry as soon as I got home. I opted for a Chobani Vanilla greek yogurt with berries & granola.

IMG_9221

I know this day of eats wasn’t that exciting but I was proud of my appetite for making some big gains. If I showed you what I ate on Saturday you would have felt bad for me. Bread, cheerios, & chicken is NOT fun.

I’m super pumped that it’s Wednesday already and even more excited to be feeling back to normal. WOOHOO!!!

What’s something yummy you ate this week?

Have you ever had the stomach flu??

The Stomach Flu & Pregnancy

WARNING.. long post ahead!!! ;)

Hi there,

It seems like it has been forever since I picked up my computer to do anything this past week. My last post was Wednesday and since then I have been taking care of Ava and myself.

IMG_9654

This was our last picture outside having fun before we both got sick!!!

We both got hit hard with the stomach flu and I’m happy that I am finally on the mends and slowly getting back to normal activities.

Wednesday morning I taught Group Power and after class Marc updated me that Ava had thrown up. My first thought was OH NO, she definitely has the stomach bug that’s going around. I tried to stay positive, it was my birthday and we had some plans so I didn’t want to get upset before I knew how she was doing.

When I got home she was lazy, quiet and of course not her high sprung cheery self. We took Cooper for a walk, I showered and got ready to go out to my birthday lunch.

2 seconds before we were walking out the door Ava threw up again. I called and canceled our lunch plans  with my family and they brought me lunch instead.

To say it was a great birthday would be an understatement but it doesn’t surprise me that this happened. I’ve learned that being a mom is the hardest job and things come up out of nowhere. Rather then be upset, I did whatever I could to keep Ava comfortable and try to enjoy the rest of the day.

IMG_9669

These flowers from Marc and my mom’s friend definitely helped brighten the day.

IMG_9657

And of course this birthday balloon that Ava wanted to give me for my birthday.

Then again this was just one birthday and we still got to enjoy some ice cream cake at the end of the night :)

THURSDAY

We woke up and I was beyond exhausted because Ava had us up from 1130-230… she was throwing up… then hungry, then fussy, then tired. It was draining.

I felt very run down and was praying I wasn’t next in line.

Around 4pm I had an ultrasound and I couldn’t stop thinking about how nauseous I felt. I felt like I was going to throw up but I fought it.

It was so great to see our little boy on the screen and to know he was growing strong & healthy.

My mind kept thinking about my stomach, it was SO uneasy and I literally felt like I was going to throw up at any second.

I forced myself to eat something because I had to teach boot camp and I didn’t want to go on an empty stomach. I couldn’t stomach much but I did manage to eat a little chicken & potatoes.

March 10th goes down as the TOUGHEST class I have ever had to teach. It was hands down a struggle for me but I didn’t want to cancel because I love my class and I rarely cancel.

Sure enough with 10 minutes left in class, my mouth was watering, I felt like I couldn’t open my mouth to yell anymore and I ran out of the class to throw up. Luckily there was a huge janitor’s trash barrel right outside the door… it was my savior. I then ran into the men’s room and kept throwing up for about 5 minutes until one of the ladies in class came looking for me!

I felt SO much better but my body was confused as to what just happened.

I wrapped up the class and quickly headed home to lay on the couch. I couldn’t get comfortable and I felt that nausea feeling again. I knew I was doomed again.

I’ll keep this short and sweet.. the next 3 hrs were spent running to and from the bathroom and grabbing trashcans when I could.

I finally woke Marc up at 1130pm and told him I think I need to go to the Emergency Room, I had nothing in my system but I was still throwing up. I was shaky, weak, tired, and on top of that I’m pregnant. I didn’t want anything to happen to the baby and I knew my body needed fluids.

We were in the ER until about 245am and after 2 IV’s, 2 cups of ice water and an ice pop they released me. I still felt weak, tired, and nauseous but I hadn’t thrown up in 3 hours so that was a BLESSING.

Lets just say I couldn’t wait to sleep.

IMG_9661

(There were lots of snuggles on the couch this past few days and we both didn’t mind!!)

The next morning Ava woke up at 640am and I actually wanted to get up to get some water and food so I let Marc sleep.

I ate a piece of toast and drank water but ran to the bathroom. This time it wasn’t throw up.. and I’ll spare the details. The next 24 hours my body had to deal with a whole new type of bathroom issue and I was still having trouble eating and drinking.

The doctor warned me if I didn’t drink fluids and I couldn’t pee normally I would have to go back to the hospital. This was all I needed to hear and I started forcing myself to chug pedialyte and ice water.

It wasn’t until Saturday at around 10am that I felt a sense of relief. My body was holding onto food and liquids.

I don’t want to bore you anymore with my stomach flu story, but I have never experienced anything like this before. I was never sick when I was pregnant with Ava so this has been a whole new experience and I wish I never have to go through it again.

I am super thankful for my family who was here to help me with Ava when I couldn’t move and for Marc playing dad & mom this weekend so I could rest.

It’s now Monday and my mind can think about more then just being sick and man does it feel good. I’m still trying to get my energy back and I know that will take a few days but I’m SO SO happy that the worst is over.

For all of you out there that had to deal with the evil stomach flu of 2016 it wasn’t easy but you are stronger for having surpassed the illness. I am so relieved that both the baby and I are healthy and I will be forever grateful for that.

Have any of you experienced this years stomach flu, if so was it the worst bug you ever had?

WIAW: Chocolate granola is dangerous

Today is March 9th which means I turn 31 years old today!

I love birthdays and I’m so pumped that it’s supposed to be 70 degreees today. I don’t think there has ever been a birthday that was over 50 degrees so this could be really fun. I’m working a little bit and then my goal is to make it to the beach with my little Ava and Cooper to let them run around!!

I woke up Monday morning with energy even though I didn’t sleep that great. Ava woke up in the middle of the night and then Cooper woke up to go out shortly after. My pregnant self cannot jump up in the middle of dead sleep so I’m thankful Marc did. I still didn’t sleep well but SOMEHOW had a highly energized feeling in the morning.

I got up at 6am and immediately chugged some water and had 1/2 cup of coffee while I whipped together this breakfast:

2 Eggs, sauteed spinach in olive oil, and sliced white potatoes.

IMG_9633

This always gives me the energy to teach Group Power. I was out the door around 7am for class and during this workout I literally kept thinking to myself, this bar is light today. Even though I mentally knew I could lift more I have to remind myself that I’m 22 weeks pregnant and that I don’t need to push it.

Anyways, I still had a great workout. I ate a banana on the way to pick Ava up and then we headed home to eat a snack and refuel.

I chose a piece of toast with avocado, egg whites & sea salt. SOOOO GOOD. I also had a cup of cheerios with Ava.

After teaching my second class of the day I noticed I started to get a little tired. My energy from the morning definitely faded.

I had some leftover tilapia with 1/2 a sweet potato and broccoli. It was delicious and filling.

While Ava napped I did some computer work and chilled. I notice that around 1pm my body tells me to SIT for an hour. I did need it and it felt good.

In the afternoon I had my usual craving for yogurt berries & granola except we were out of the granola I like :( that’s a super sad face right there. BUT Marc reminded me that we had some Chocolate granola from Trader Joe’s.  That worked PERFECTLY over my Siggi’s Raspberry yogurt!!

Let me tell you that stuff is soo good… clearly it can’t be healthy because it’s addicting. I have to portion out my serving because if the box is around I WON’T STOP.

Anyways, the weather was beautiful on Monday so we took advantage and headed to one of our beaches with my friend Megan and her dog Abbey. The sun was shining and the temperature was in the 50’s.

This got me SUPER excited for the spring time and warmer weather.

Cooper ran around like crazy and so did Ava. It was so nice to see them both having fun and letting out some energy!!

When we got home I had no desire to cook. I originally planned on steak but I was so tired. I opened the fridge and decided to eat whatever I could find. I first had a salad with peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers and honey mustard dressing.

Plus a piece of bbq chicken and some sweet potatoes. I also had some bites of Ava’s mac and cheese. I had to taste it right?

When 630pm rolled around my body was wiped. Teaching 2 classes and chasing around a toddler and a dog for an hour at the beach is tiring. Thank goodness Marc was around to give me a break.

We watched a little TV once Ava was asleep and then I snacked on this gluten free waffle with peanut butter and sliced strawberries.

I love this combination. I also ate extra strawberries on the side because this batch was so juicy.

That’s it for my day of eats!
